WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Jose Gonzalez - 'In Our Nature'

Posted over 2 years ago
Insomnia gets a bad rap sometimes. I get so much great music listening done when I should be sleeping. Tonight I made use of my not sleeping by diving into the new Jose Gonzalez record...which you know is good, because Jose comes from Sweden. Sweden = goodThat is one of the simplest equations in all of rock. I have a list of places I want to see before I die...and Sweden is ROCKETING up the charts. I am not a fan at all of these illegal and unnecessary wars that George Bush likes to start, but I could be convinced that invading Sweden would be in the US's best interest, culturally speaking I mean. But back to Jose Gonzalez....what a great record...really, i love it! I will let the critics hit you with all of the obscure adjectives...and I will just tell you its brilliant and play a song...enjoy.

  1. soundgirl says I like this song, thanks for uploading. I concur on the insomnia-inspired music research...might as well use the time. However, sometimes I wonder if I wouldn't nod off to sleep easily if only all that great music wasn't out there to discover?

  2. dragonhead says I have to say, I don't like the new album. It's not a patch on Veneer. And frankly, the less said about the cover of "Teardrop" is awful. Although not as bad as Newton "David Gray in a dreadlock wig" Faulkner's attempt at the same song.

  3. matt cleveland says I love this album too, Blair. Thanks to The Program, I've been listening to it all week alternating with The Shepherd's Dog. They are both great and make a great pairing. Right now I'm going back through all of both of their albums. It's like a melancholy fever dream...that almost sounds like an Iron & Wine song title...they've infested my neurons...

  9. 2Serenity says Is this from the Veneer album? I was at a jazz performance last night (November 1st) and my favorite singer, Amel Larrieux, said to buy Veneer NOW so I was just checking to see what others had to say. I heard some of it and I loved it. Amel did a rendition of "Crosses" that BLEW me away and I heard his and was in love with his voice too! Thanks, for MOGGING on him! =)
