WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Label loyalty....you win some, you lose some

Posted over 2 years ago
I don't read a lot of record reviews...there are SO many on web it gets to be sensory overload most of the time. I have a few people here on MOG that I like to read, but i usually don't read them elsewhere. I find myself spending a lot of time on record label web sites and checking out their new releases. There are a handful of labels that have street cred to burn with me, and rarely do i dislike something they release.Labels like Merge, Arts and Crafts, Sub Pop(still), New West, and a few more...Here is one I am glad I checked out via Merge. Brookyln's 'Oakley Hall' and their latest 'I'll Follow You'A great alt country sound, with elements of psychedilia and power pop mixed in...just a wonderful record and one that gets better with every spin...ill post a couple of tracks...the first one is my favorite from the record.
