Best Modern Musician, Overall

I am going to state now that I feel Dave Grohl is the best modern musician. By modern I mean 1990's and beyond. Here are the reasons for my choice:1. He has proven beyond proficiency in multiple instruments. While this in of itself isn't a big deal, if you hear his drum playing in Nirvana or on Queens Of The Stone Age's Songs For The Deaf, and recognize that he is the most sought after interim drum player (recruited by Queens Of The Stone Age, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - who asked him to stay on, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Garbage, Killing Joke, Mike Watt, and the movie Backbeat - a tribute to the Beatles) you'll know that it's something to be spoken for. And considering he taught himself drums by banging around in his room, just damn, man. And I didn't know this until recently but he played all of the instruments, or just about, on the first Foo Fighters album and got together his band afterward so it wouldn't be a solo project (this will come to a future point). 2. His songwriting is amazing. If you listen to a lot of his lyrics, they range from the pointless and fun ("Big Me") to the absolutely gorgeous ("A320") to the downright depressing but still beautiful ("Razor"). Sure he has clunkers, but his better tracks are downright golden. Fuckin' Monkey Wrench man. And he's done it during drug days and his writing hasn't suffered with him being clean.3. His singing voice is amazing. Again, so versatile. Listen to In Your Honor, and listen to him scream on Hell and then listen to him call for Another Round. Listen to Colour And The Shape, and listen to his throat screech on Wind Up and listen to Febraury Stars. This can't be the same guy, but it is. In Everlong he touches on both.4. Where's the ego? He doesn't seem to have one. He still gladly does small acoustic venues. And if you listen to his interviews, and see that he felt he detracted from Nirvana's sound, and see that he didn't want a Dave Grohl project, you just want to give the man a hug.5. Something to be said for small beginnings. How many people get their start as a sideman of one amazing band and lead another one, and still don't get an ego? How does that happen? And the fact that his two bands are considered by many to be two of the top 10, 20 most, rock groups after 1990 is no small feat. Especially with him being so instrumental (ha, ha) in both.So those are my points. You are welcome to disagree if you have a reason and you go about it respectfully.
