Them Duke boys were cleared of rape charges after it was found that the accuser was a drugged up stripper who falsified everything and pulled this shit before.

This song is dedicated to them, and to truth.

I've been noticing a trend in the past few months that this song adds to, and that's bands with both male and female vocalists. It seems that half the artists that have come to me in 2006 have had both. This trend has made me incredibly happy as I would like to see more (1) female vocalists in rock and (2) instances of genders coexisting. So I'm going to provide some bands with male and female vocalists that have stuck out for me and I think people should check out.

Arcade Fire: They're fun and bouncy, and they like to add themes to their cd's, from what I've seen. The male and female tend to alternate songs and sing backup for one another...it seems. For a good song by the female singer, check out "In The Back Seat", and for the male "Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)"

The Decemberists: So the female here is not a lead singer but more of a back-up, but she is part of another trend I've been liking, and that is females who play instruments in rock bands. Another good example of this is The Zutons (and ps the woman in that band is a fireball onstage, bouncing around there with her trumpet). For a great song with both voices I would say "The Engine Driver".

Lacuna Coil: It's very different than the other artists on this list for two reasons. One, it's a hard rock band and the rest of this list is generally Britpop/alt rock. Two, the female tends to be the lead moreso than the male. Christina is her name and her voice is freaking gorgeous. I don't really care for the male singer much, but Christina is a powerhouse. Off the new cd, I would say "In Visible Light". Off topic, another female-fronted band with great potential is Ambulette. Check them out.

The Magic Numbers: The Magic Numbers have a very Fleetwood Mac thing goin on, with two sets of either couples or siblings as the quartet. The women here are more backup vocals than anything else, but it still works really well. I'd check out "Morning's Eleven" and "Don't Give Up The Fight".

The Subways: Not as good as the rest of the bands on this list, but definitely worth a check out. Woman seems to be a back up. Song I really like is "Lines Of Light".

Winterpills: This and the next one I have to thank my love for. The woman serves solely as a backup but her voice adds so much to the mix. Songs to check out: "Pills For Sara", "Laughing", and "Cranky".

Zero 7: These guys are deceptively trippy with their music, depending on what you hear first. I think the woman is the primary vocalist here. I would check out "Speed Dial #2".

If there are any bands in this line that you feel are worth mentioning, please by all means add them and I shall check them out. I love learning about new music. Peace!

The Hush Sound "Like Vines" has been getting heavy play by me. Both the guy and the girl singers sound real good I think.

Two recommendations I've been digging so far. Thanks!

Saturday Looks Good To Me reminds me a bit of Belle & Sebastian, at least from this song. Liking the instrumentation too.

Hush Sound...seems pretty diverse, in that good way. I like this. Don't have a basis of comparison just yet, but it seems like something I am going to be playing quite a bit.

I am going to state now that I feel Dave Grohl is the best modern musician. By modern I mean 1990's and beyond. Here are the reasons for my choice:

1. He has proven beyond proficiency in multiple instruments. While this in of itself isn't a big deal, if you hear his drum playing in Nirvana or on Queens Of The Stone Age's Songs For The Deaf, and recognize that he is the most sought after interim drum player (recruited by Queens Of The Stone Age, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - who asked him to stay on, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Garbage, Killing Joke, Mike Watt, and the movie Backbeat - a tribute to the Beatles) you'll know that it's something to be spoken for. And considering he taught himself drums by banging around in his room, just damn, man. And I didn't know this until recently but he played all of the instruments, or just about, on the first Foo Fighters album and got together his band afterward so it wouldn't be a solo project (this will come to a future point).

2. His songwriting is amazing. If you listen to a lot of his lyrics, they range from the pointless and fun ("Big Me") to the absolutely gorgeous ("A320") to the downright depressing but still beautiful ("Razor"). Sure he has clunkers, but his better tracks are downright golden. Fuckin' Monkey Wrench man. And he's done it during drug days and his writing hasn't suffered with him being clean.

3. His singing voice is amazing. Again, so versatile. Listen to In Your Honor, and listen to him scream on Hell and then listen to him call for Another Round. Listen to Colour And The Shape, and listen to his throat screech on Wind Up and listen to Febraury Stars. This can't be the same guy, but it is. In Everlong he touches on both.

4. Where's the ego? He doesn't seem to have one. He still gladly does small acoustic venues. And if you listen to his interviews, and see that he felt he detracted from Nirvana's sound, and see that he didn't want a Dave Grohl project, you just want to give the man a hug.

5. Something to be said for small beginnings. How many people get their start as a sideman of one amazing band and lead another one, and still don't get an ego? How does that happen? And the fact that his two bands are considered by many to be two of the top 10, 20 most, rock groups after 1990 is no small feat. Especially with him being so instrumental (ha, ha) in both.

So those are my points. You are welcome to disagree if you have a reason and you go about it respectfully.

Grohl is a stand up guy. He does excel in many of the items you mentioned, but as far as his recent body of work, I'd say that it has declined. Perhaps some of that is me moving on in my music tastes, but I think alot of the current FF songs are melding together. You can't argue with his longevity or the fact that FF still sell records.

I have to change the station whenever a new Foo Fighters song comes on. I like loud music and everything, but Grohl's voice kicks in immediately and I have to listen to something else. It's a generic rock band that seems to get worse with every new album.

Grohl himself is a likable dude, though. I'll give you that. Probot was a lot of fun.

I am glad people are willing to disagree, and I can see that in some ways yes they are a declining band. I am not speaking for Foo Fighters or Nirvana when I write this post, mind you, only what I feel is Grohl's ability. And I state overall because I don't think he is the best in any one field but he has a wider range of aspects he can hold his own in better than at least 3/4 of the modern musicians out there. Is he going past his prime? Perhaps. But I think that he's held it pretty well this long.

To the point that every song is sounding like every other song, I will say this: when you are with a band of the same members for so long, even if some members change, if you have a basic lineup for so long you're going to find a certain sonic range that you click in. Every band does that so I don't think Foo can be faulted for that. I defy you to find me a band that doesn't have songs on their fourth album that sound like songs on their second album.

Funky Goose, while I respect the choices you have listed, I am deleting your response because I said to be respectful with your opinion, and will not deal with derisiveness.
