WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Ain't No Sunshine

Posted over 3 years ago
This is one of my absolute favorites. It's one of those songs where the lyrics are simple and right to the point, yet don't lose any of there impact or seem stereotypical. The three versions I have:Ain't No Sunshine - Bill Withers - Greatest HitsAin't No Sunshine (Groove Corporation Dub) - Stryke - Staying InNo Sunshine - DMX - Exit WoundsThe Bill Withers version is by far the best, but the Stryke and DMX versions are both good (albeit quite different) in their interpretation of the original.

  1. Heggs says It really is a beautiful song- have you heard the Me First and the Gimme Gimmies cover? I think I have to check out the Stryke cover now, it sounds pretty cool.

  3. ckd says The Lighthouse Family version on the Notting Hill soundtrack is good...but Bill's is still the best. (Other versions I have include Maroon 5 and Eva Cassidy.) You might like Lighthouse Family's own "Goodbye Heartbreak".

  5. Lyla says Michael Jackson, Ziggy Marley, Tom Jones, Sting, Ben Harper, Van Morrison, Otis Redding, Al Green, and Lenny Kravitz all covered it too. Jackson's version actually got higher in the charts than the original, can you believe that? I like Lighthouse Family's cover the most, I think.
