I'm a bad mogger. I admit it. No longer shall I wait many months to post a mog. It's too awesome. Sorry, my trusted moggers, for letting you down. Since my last post I've been in lots of studios, writing killer songs, enjoying good music, and watching all of my friends gain much-deserved success all around. Feels good.
Here's a list off the top of my head of stuff I've seen/ experienced over the past few months that should get you back on the horse:
Country music, fried plaintains, Gibson acoustic guitars, Band of Bees mixing the perfect amount of Jamaican back-beat, R&B and early British rock bands reminiscent of Traffic (can you tell that I love this group?) Jack Johnson tour promoting environmental awareness on every level, Venice Beach, Barak, getting in overheated debates with large swashbuckling men on airplanes about Barak, a host of interesting people in la-la land, oh yeah... and this:

Only one phrase that comes to mind- ROCK AND ROLL !!
Thanks for listening, I am releasing a demo this month so hopefully you all will be able to check it out! Will keep you posted.
xo!

I stumbled across this and thought it was freakin awesome! I love how Stewart and Sting are calling out the keys to Andy. And am definitely down with the "setlist are for wimps" callout from Mr. Copeland.

To watch a band that is musically so stripped down but so powerful is a true joy for any musician, let alone anyone listening. I hope, hope, hope I can go to the show in LA. If anybody has extra tickets I will stage dive for them!

Saw them last night in Seattle and had a blast! The beginning was a little shaky with "Synchronicity" but after that the sound and cohesion gelled....
Highlights for me were the "Walking in your Footsteps" and "Don't Stand so Close to Me".....
I would love to see this show again in a few months as I am sure they will so much tighter. Also, I'd like to see them change up setlists as the first few shows apparently have all had the same or almost the same setlist/order......
All in all, a great time and something I am happy I made the trip for!
One sidenote, I have never been one to purchase merchandise at concerts and still remain so. But, Alli returned with a t-shirt, that, albiet cute, cost $45. Is that what all concert t-shirts cost these days? The show tix were $100....doesn't that ratio seem a little off? Not only that, but it is basically the same T-shirts they were selling in the early '80's......I think Urban Outfitters sells them for $16! :o)
I've never made a MOG post before-- whoa, this is so exciting.

Even though I'm in LA I still couldn't swing going out to Coachella two weekends ago. I had my own head stuck so far in the studio clouds that I didn't plan ahead of time. But I did listen to the current album of every Coachella artist in the lineup via Rhapsody. Here is my list of favorites, in no particular :) order:
1. Blonde Redhead
2. New Pornographers
3. Junior Boys
4. Klaxons
5. Noisettes
6. Kings of Leon
7. Rodrigo y Gabriela
8. Travis
9. The Fratellis
10.The Black Keys
I hope you keep in touch because I'm finishing up some RRR tracks-- raw, rocking, and rad-- in the studio right now. Would be great to get mogiified.
C ya!
