I Wanna Go Home

I was working a temp job in Nashville when I wrote this song. Most temp jobs are easy and you don't really have to learn anything because you're not there long enough to need to know it. This job was quite the exception.

The first problem was they wanted me there at 7am. Didn't they understand I was a musician? The company was a barge line, among other things. Apparently my job was to track barges using some digital machine that pinged like you were in a submarine. So disgruntled people were calling up all day saying things like, "where in the hell is my hayseed?" Because I was in Nashville the accents were really bad and annoying to the ear that early in the morning.

I finally just put the phone on do not disturb and wrote this song. Needless to say I didn't last there very long. Got a song out of it though!
