okay i did this because i read somewhere on the internets that a couple tracks on sigurs album 'agaetis byrjun' were tinkered with. the first and last tracks to be exact. and since i have the tools and programs at my disposal i thought i would take a gander. turns out, track 1, 'intro' is really just a clip of a different version of the song 'agaetis byrjun' and played in reverse. track 10, titled 'avalon' is a clip of the instrumental to the song 'staralfur' however, i had to speed it up by 300% in order to recognize it. !!
i rendered both tracks, and posted it up top. first is the intro and then avalon. here is the actual song for avalon in case you want to compare!
also, ive been having problems receiving mog notifications, so sorry if i miss a post or somsing. :)

wait....what? this really blows my mind.
it seems to be valid though, based on what you did.
and i had a problem with my notifications too...just for about a day or so. that was weird.

wow, that's amazing! kudos to you for messing around enough to actually work that out. i think i'd heard something along the same lines about agaetis, and about Takk as well. maybe that should be your next project ;)
makes you wonder why you didn't notice it in the first place lol.

oh and in other news... did you hear they've recorded 11 songs in NY and are back in Iceland to do the final touches to the new album, hopefully for release in late spring/early summer? woohoo!

So I notice you have been successful in your endevour! Well done :)

ardy: ya its like a little gem hidden in the cd! only for hopelessly obsessed people like me!
laura: i did not know that! well, i knew they were in ny working on it, but i cant believe they are already done recording! im not going to ask questions though, i just want.
yella: dont worry, im cooling off. in fact the mix cd has come out of my car :( but i still listen to the playlist on my pc 24/7 :)

Sam says: " ... track 10, titled 'avalon' is a clip of the instrumental to the song 'staralfur' however, i had to speed it up by 300% in order to recognize it."
I guess that means that Avalon is really Staralfur played at a more leisurely ... but majestic and weighty glacial pace?
My Trusted MOGs
exactly. lol.
