scratch that. this has been one of my favorite songs for the last 2 years. and heres the story of the hell i went through to get it.im not the biggest romantic comedy fan, so i was surprised when i absolutely loved the movie "Just Friends" with Ryan Reynolds. after renting it twice, i finally decided to buy it (but this is mog, not imdb, so lets get back to the music). there is one point during the movie (the ending) when a song started playing. i was blown away by its simple beauty and lovely melodic touch that i knew i had to obtain it. i flew through the credits to get to the music section and pressed my face to the screen. the words were blurry but i was able to make out the band name and song title while pausing the film.i then went to amazon.com to look up the artist "rogue wave." there i found their cds, none of which held the song "eyes" that i so desired. off to their myspace, where it was listed, and the info said it could be bought on the "Just Friends" soundtrack. although i usually dont buy soundtracks other than original scores, this was my only hope (i couldnt find a single, and i despise itunes). i found a seller, and ordered it.one week went by, no cd. two weeks. three weeks. after 31 days went by, i decided to give the supplier a little email. it went something like this "i ordered a cd from you a long time ago. im pissed." she responded sarcastically, "its not our fault, but it should have arrived by now. we are considering it lost in the mail. if you like we can send you another or refund you." I replied, "a refund would be great! that way i can buy it from someone else!" i was given a full refund.instantly i bought the cd from a more reliable seller. this time with 2 day shipping. the next day a cd came to my door. it was the first that i ordered. great. i mean... i did get it for free i guess. the day after, another cd came a knockin. i didnt even open the package. i asked the second person i bought it from, if they had a return policy, and they said to just ship it right back. i put it into another manila envelope and sent it. funny thing is, i think it was lost in the mail going back to the supplier, cuz i never received a refund.
BUT, i have the song. and it led to me discovering one of my favorite albums this year. "Descended like Vultures" by, you guessed it, Rogue Wave.
