WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

"We'll Figure Something Out."

Those few words give me hope. Tremendous hope. As some of you may know, I like music/rhythm games (Rock Band, Guitar Hero, etc.), except for Dance Dance Revolution in which I played the other day at the movie theater and got my ass handed to me. But that stuff isn't even music... it's like Japanese bubblegum acid trippin techno. Blah. Anyway, I bought The Beatles Rock Band when it was released in September, and can say I am thoroughly satisfied. Damn those lads are good. I'm even contemplating the purchase of their entire remastered collection. Contemplating* ...because that costs coin.

However, the one band that I've wanted to play since the birth of this music game phenomenon is my favorite music making machine, U2. I mean think about it, epic guitar work - Check. Driving bass lines - Check. Fun drum patterns - Check. and well, vocals... The Bono Factor - CHECK. They could even sell a guitar controller version of Edge's signature Gibson Explorer, hell I'd pick one of those up.

I thought the release of "No Line on the Horizon" would have made for a great promotional DLC pack, but to no avail. It turns out U2 has been approached to be in Rock Band, but they turned it down. "We definitely would like to be in there, but we felt some of the compromises weren't what we wanted." said bassist Adam Clayton. He went on to say that they would like to see something more along the lines of what the Beatles got. So do I! I would much rather see U2 get the full game treatment than a little DLC pack. Because that means I would be rolling around in U2 songs up to my ears. "We'll figure something out." Adam went on to say. Those words rock me to sleep at night. That and with the news of U2 already working on a new album gives me slight speculation of a release date... maybe? I just realized how sad and pathetic this post is... well screw you - I likes da vidija gamez.

uuuuuhhh. What I would do to play "Silver & Gold." The wait begins.

start making the list, U2 would be in my top 10 for sure. I am just happy to be getting guitar hero van halen soon, free when you bought GH5 so that is a plus with in itself. I have not gotten the beatles as of yet, still not sure if I am going to get that next or dj hero.

i already did! i went through their catalog and put together a modest playlist of songs that would make sense in a game. right now it sits at 40 tracks (up for revisions). ive been listening to it for the past couple hours... :) personally i like the rock band franchise more than guitar hero. so i dont know if ill ever get around to getting GH5. beatles has been really good though. truly a rich experience, albeit shorter. you know i just thought about it, harmonix would probably put out a RB3 before releasing another single band game. uuuhhhhhhhhhhhh.

There are a few bands I'd love to play with...

But I'm all "I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy".

my problem with the rock band songs i have played is the fact that many of the songs aren't good! i haven't tried to the beatles one (but that sounds fantastic), but a U2 version would be epic, to say the least. so get on it! change the world, one U2 song at a time...
