so i have decided that if you are a girl and in an indie rock band, you are quirky and cute... you are "qwute." thats right, i just made that up. that just happened. shake and bake and what not...anywho, if you dont believe me, here are a few examples.exhibit A: Nikki Monninger of Silversun Pickups. i dont think there is a qwuter bass player in the world.suspect 2: Erin Fein of Headlights. notice the hair style, it says, "i dont care (but i secretly do)." and apparently her qwutness radiates so much that it blurs out the rest of the band. sorry guys.Number C: Meredith Godreau of Gregory and the Hawk. when she speaks/sings/smiles, my head explodes and rains candy on orphaned children.so there you have it, its science.

    James12 says great post, and that video for kissing families is one of my favorites, I love the way she nearly hits Joe and the end's pretty cool, I gotta agree with you bro, Indie girls, female bass players rock. There's not a lot in the world that can beat an indie girl. I'm pretty sure there's more examples, anyway, great post, peace out, James.

"Nerd" glasses are the ultimate Qwute™ accoutrement - or Qwutrement (<---® Contrabandwidth - you didn't think I'd miss out on the money making opportunities of this, did you?). Much like the gingham dress + combat boots. Separate the two and you were either punk/goth or hippie. Now I'm going to buy up the domain Qwute and Qwutrements.com :) Pay up Sam! :)

    contrabandwidth says Well, I believe in times like this, the power shifts to the Veep and then Speaker of the House. I'll let the people speak... I see the very nature of Qwuteness is the dependent on the seemingly Qwutidian™® (Qwute + Quotidian) nature of being Qwute. You see you must appear at all costs, cute, but some how average - like the cute girl who works at the record store. Your Qwute factor than must manifest in something like being a singer in a band, name dropping an obscure influence (that could go for both record store girl and band girl). Therefore when you see average Qwute girl rocking out on stage at your local fv club, your heart soars as if you had been in contact with some bad 80's movie plot where an angel has been sent to earth to protect you, thus allowing you to fall in love with her, but unable to truly sanctify your love for each other. This poses quite a Qwutundrum.

    mister gary at work again says Glad to know there's now a term (Qwute) to go with my biggest qualification for random music-oriented crushing. Once upon a time when I was a measly 21-year-old college student, I met a 17-year-old girl who looked an awful lot like Lisa Loeb. Thus began a crush that was harbored for years, and is actually still clung to a tiny bit to this day - even after two years of happy marriage to someone else, heh. I'm such a sucker for Qwute.

    This reminds of how Noodle, quirky and cute and hip guitarist in the cliché-laden virtual indie pop rock group Gorillaz came to be.

    Call me fun-spoiler if you will. I am of those who are attracted by the sound and/or the voice not the looks. This lady is perhaps less quirky and cute that the qwute nominees above but I'll choose over any of the others.

    Sam The Artist says bartleby: not true. i mentioned in the original that Meredith Godreau makes me melt when she performs. and besides, musical talent is a given for all of them, or else they wouldnt be on this post! it was simply my thoughts on females in indie rock bands. and btw i think she is very qwute. :)
