Back again. No affiliatin to Best Buy, just a shout out to support these bands w/your pocketbook if you like 'em.
The big one for me, the one I bought today, was Glasvegas. Awesome CD and only US$7.99 GO GET IT.
Also for US$7.99 are Ida Maria, Airborne Toxic Event, Cage the Elephant, Metric, Utada, The Script, Tinted Windows, K'Naan, Framing Hanley, Saving Abel, Jason Michael Carrolll, Carolina Liar, Parachute, Mat Kearney & Kate Voegele & Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP. Among others.
At $8.99 we have Method Man & Redman with Blackout! 2. Incredibad & Green Day's newest joint weigh in at $9.99 (plus Eminem's newest on Tuesday). And that's all the good cheap stuff.
Support your favorite bands! If you can't do this, then at least go see 'em when they come through your town & buy a CD there or a tshirt or something.

Huzzah, Sam!
I've totally been sleeping on Glasvegas, but was checking out the bands that will be at Lolla for a possible trip this summer and loved it. I checked the songs on iTunes then d/l'd and loved it and, it's weird, I was hoping it'd be on sale in the BestBuy newspaper insert this week.
I guess next week I hope to win the lottery. :)
Any of these strike your fancy, Mike?
Oh, and their sound...it's like the Ramones & JAMC & the Phil Spector wall of sound bands. Dark lyrics, loud washed out guitars, and that feckin' grreat Scottish accent. :) Great rainy day sad music, or sad drinking music. Actually, it may be too sad for drinking, it'd put you right under. :)
Been on board the Glasvegas train since they launched, Sam. Got a post on it somewhere in the MOG-o-Sphere. Also into Ida Maria, Airborne Toxic Event, and Metric, as one might expect. All good!
wanted to post the fact that Best Buy had a huge PS3 clearout and games were just 9.99 three weeks ago. Scored Soul Calibur, New James Bond and Pure. Talk about a good deal
@Mike - Didn't love the new Metric, I found the Friendly Fires from last year that I'm digging on the electro dance tip. Ida Maria is fun, but not this go-round. :)
@Rawkky - Nice score. I don't have a PS3 and honestly don't see owning one until I get out of school, which means I'll be on the PS4 train. If that. :)
thats if sony is still around, looks like they took a 1.3 billion dollar hit this last fiscal whatever..........you could always head up this way and hit me up for a game
Never heard of Glasvegas -- the iTunes samples are great, thanks for the introduction!
@Rawkky - I'll wait until you move down here. :)
@Jodante - Glad you like it! I think I'm close to overplaying it, but I really like it. Especially, as I like to say, "Administered at the proper volume", which my morning commute will be perfect for tomorrow. :)
I've been slow to jump on the Glasvegas bandwagon too. Was looking forward to seeing them at Coachella but the lead singer got sick so they cancelled, damn him, haha!
I just bought a shiny new nifty HP laptop at Best Buy on Sat. but I was too distracted w/needing to purchase one to really check out the cds too closely. I have way too many anyway!
@August - I don't know what it was, but I started listening to stuff Dale posted and then checking out the Lolla lineup and all of a sudden I had TONS of new (to me) music to listen to. :)
I have too many CDs, too, but I want to support the artists I like. Glasvegas doesn't seem to be getting close to Denver anytime soon, so in lieu of a show & shirt or something, I racked them up a SoundScan vote on the cheap for me. :)
If I'd known that Glasvegas cd was so cheap at BB I would've picked it up. But alas, due to being computerless I had turned off my mog notifs. Oh well, such is life eh?
That Dale is a true EMCD for sure!
The Glasvegas CD I bought has two bonus tracks on it, one of which is "Everbody's Got to Learn Sometime", which I like better than the original (kinda blah MOR) and the Erasure cover version from their "Other People's Songs" album in 2003.
Damn...a lot of people have covered that song! Beck, Real Life...originally done by The Korgis. Talk about one-hit wonder. :)
Cool, I'm sure I can find it online somewhere @;P
