Auido Gear

Posted over 2 years ago
Just wondering what everyone plays there music through? Any serious audiophiles around?Personally I have a mid-high end car stero setup with alpine h/u, focal splits, jl sub, eclipse amp. I usually just hook my iPod Nano up to it which provides ok sound and is more convenient than hauling cd's around. When I'm at home I use an old phillips hifi system, it's ok, but nothing special. I'm saving up for some more professional home audio gear.I am going to upgrade the Nano to an 80gb iPod video and hopefully some decent headphones around christmas time. How bout you guys?

  1. B42 says I listen over cheap stuff but mostly wireless; headphones, speakers all around the house and yard, etc...(looking to upgrade again shortly).

  2. Kate says I've got a Kenwood receiver, a massive set of KLH speakers from the '60's and a Technics SL-1650 turntable. I don't have a CD player, so I plug my Ipod (5 gig from 5 years ago) into the receiver. If you go to David Hyman's page, he has a widget that lists his whole audio set-up. I don't like to look at it very often, 'cause it makes me jealous.

  3. B42 says Yeah, jealousy, one of the seven deadly mog sins,... I suffer from it frequently around here when I see all the "stuff" and tunes other moggers are hoarding, and when those West Coast concerts are just out of my reach......

  4. stevegoz says My cheap RCA surround system is packed up down in the basement after our move five months ago. The closest thing I have to a full-fledged stereo right now is a pair of massive Sony speakers with a built-in amp -- through TiVo and the router, I can listen to any music from my PC through them down in the living room. Otherwise, I exclusively rock JBL now -- a set of Creatures on my PC in the home office, and an OnStage II in the bedroom.

  5. SamTheButcher says in the last few years, I've unloaded my larger speakers, my Sony digital receiver. I still have my dual cassette deck, though. And I'm thinking I'm going to get a USB turntable for Christmas. :)
