WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Classic(al) Rock(s)!

Posted over 3 years ago
Yeah, I haven't MOGged for quite some time and I'm very, very sorry. Please forgive me, dearest MOG, by raising my neglected status from "Smoking" to "Fucking Hot" or whatever the highest thingy is. Are we friends again? MOG? Moggy?? Come on...Anyway, I've been acting far too busy to have time for anything so lowly as listening to/buying/eating new music. I mean, I've got exams right around the corner and a job that might as well be full time the way they exploit me. Even when I'm sick. Like now.The little bit of music I have been checking out the last few months have been mostly symphonic stuff ranging from Beethoven to Lizst to Ives to Stravinsky (he's the Wikipedia featured article today for some odd reason!) and back again, futhering my music nerdity into other centuries. Some of it's pretty neat/absurd/amusing, 'specially the early 20th century shit like Shoenburg. And I thought Beefheart was an odd fellow...Not that this interests anyone here, but what symphonic ("classical") music have my fellow MOGgers taken to listening to, if any? If not, then why not? and does anyone have any suggestions on futher listenings? Mmmm?

  1. Kwinnton says I know how ya feel man. I've got the same stuff going on and I'm being worked like a dog. Just kinda posted something to that myself, although not quite so eloquent.

  3. RobP says Hey, welcome back. Got no classical for ya, but I think you'd like the Gary Lucas (-ex Beefheart, ex Jeff Buckley) live ep I just bought. It's called @Paradiso . Let me know if you're interested.

  5. El Monko and Son says My son enjoys Wagner's "Flight of the Valkyrie" (and who doesn't?) I have a thing for Grieg's "Hall of the Mountain King" and my wife is all about the Chopin.
