Thought i'd make my first post here on the ol' MOG. I'm really enjoying this.So..RIP my car radio. Ohh the horror!! I got into my car monday morning to find that my radio was completely dead. The tape adapter is stuck in there and everything. Upon further investigation, I found that some wingnut put a 15 fuse in the radio slot and it fried the radio. Should have been a 10 fuse. (I'm holding First Team responsible. They replaced all the fuses about a year ago when I was having a power issue with my car.) No iPod. No NPR. No CD player. My 2 mile drive to work is painfully silent. What is a car without music? What are your favorite car tunes? Is it a Blind Melon song on your way home from work? Is it Cat Power on a rainy sunday afternoon trip to the grocery store? Is it Radiohead at 2am on a 10 hour trip north?

  2. Anonymous says lol, unfortunately i don't own an ipod and i don't have a cd player in my car. Radio only. I tend to listen to the local classic rock station or the alternative rock station. Lucky for me, I don't leave home very often. Welcome to mog!!

  4. lemontwist says Welcome welcome welcome. MOG is a great place. Hope you enjoy it here. :) Lovin' Blind Melon, and Radiohead The Bends has held up well in my car this week. But the best of all times driving music is Gin Blossoms Congratulations I'm Sorry. Also Who's Next and some good ol' Alman Brothers Band. Can't beat that on the way to Vermont for a ski trip.

  5. Sethpian says When I was but a wee lad, my car had no radio. My solution was to strap a boom box to a seat and crank my favorite tapes. Those antiques are pretty cheap there days, and if you have a power drill, you can make it work for an ipod tape adapter. Just have lots of batteries handy. Welcome to the clubhouse.

  12. chstinson says I have tons of stuff on my iPod but, while I'm driving, I listen to a set of pulsing, pounding tunes to help to keep me focused on my 50+ mile commute. Kimberly (live track) from the legacy edition of Patti Smith's Horses, Bill Kirchen's Rockin' Over China, Bonnie Raitt's Burning Down the House, Webb Wilder's How Long Can She Last (Goin' That Fast), etc. The bass is booming and it seems to keep the deer off of the highways in front of me.
