Sheffield Again

" And that twenty people, if not more, took the stage singing and dancing and diving off is evidence enough as to how good the crowd thought Milburn was. A band I definitely hope to see more of."That was what I wrote about 8 months or so ago, when I saw Milburn play in the small room at the Paradiso. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to welcome them back in Holland yet, but nevertheless I have good hopes I will in the upcoming months.Gearing up for their new single and album release in September, Milburn's new song "What Will You Do" already is receiving air time on British radio, including Jo Whiley and Zane Lowe giving it credits. Here is a rip from one of those radio shows. You gotta turn up the volume though, because it's a bit dodgy, the quality is. But I think this is an ace song, and I hope that the second album will mark a breakthrough for these guys. Eight months ago I thought they were ace live, and now this gets my hopes up for the September release of their second album. I'm curious to see what you guys think.

  1. max says i could see this being one of those bands that NME is claiming to be "saving rock n' roll" like they say every week. Nonetheless, they have potential, i like it!

  2. SA says Glad you like it. :) NME I believe does not like the band, because they are from Sheffield and it would sound too much like Arctic Monkeys, which they probably think of any guitar based band. I think it really sounds good. It has a good build up. I've got a better mp3 of the audio rip now, and I must say I'm listening to it constantly.
