Fav tracks are "Be Be Your Love" and "Reason Why", both from "Happenstance" cd. Look forward to decades more from her.

Rachael Yamagata is consolation for the fact Fiona Apple isn't more prolific. Her lyrics aren't quite as smart, but she has the same piano siren vibe going on.

I find Rachael Yamagata very interesting in the fact we know little about her. She could be like all the rest, or maybe she can distance herself from the bunch we won't know. She's working on her next album lets hope it's as good.

Music may be a little too sentimental for some, but he means it, and it comes through. Loved by other artists. Start with "Blue Boy" cd.

Heard him do a set live on a TV program, he is getting some love from France but I'm not sure how I feel about his album, maybe it is the sentimentality. He really sounds like McCartney/Young sometimes too.

He is a better writer than singer for sure. Assume you mean Neil Young? He's an example of someone who has the style to carry his strong writing further. If there wise a wise singer out there they would record an album of Sexsmith covers (a la Jenifer Warne' '"Famous Blue Raincoat" covering another Canadian - Leonard Cohen).

They are the biggest Canadian band...in Canada. Still struggling to get past a small college following in the US (Buffalo and border cities are exceptions), but these guys have many great cds all ready for you to discover. If you're looking for a cd to start with, "Road Apples" is fantastic. Btw, they are amazing live.

Oh man, The Tragically Hip are still a band? I thought Gord D had gone solo or something. Maybe I'm just recalling his poetry book project.

In my mind, The Hip may have passed into that "only in Canada" career phase previously demonstrated by say, The Rheostatics. Undying love from CBC and the Junos or whatever, but not many new fans.

Last.fm is probably skewed to a young, non-Canadian demographic, but they list about 10 times more people listening to The Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene as to The Tragically Hip.

That said, I've been meaning to repurchase Fully Completely for ages, so thanks for the reminder!
