I don't know how many people that stop by my mog are musicians, but those of you who are will hopefully either understand or one day come to understand what I'm about to tell you.I have a 1960 Les Paul which has been abused as shit. I'm rough on my instruments and I'm also kinda clumsy. Needless to say this is a bad combination.Anyway, I go to visit a friend of my, Andy Brauer. He's a brilliant musician, guitar tech and all around nice guy. He used to tech for Dave Mustaine of Megadeth and Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits... the list goes on. Anyway, I bring my guitar into this little shop to play a few of his amazing boutique amps. He takes one look at the guitar and says I have to leave it with him. He's going to work on it. It needed work too. I dropped this particular guitar on the concrete during a sidewalk show last year... yeah, it's been around.Anyway I agree, he says he'll have it ready for me by Monday, and he's giving me a discount. So monday rolls around and I stop by his place to pick it up... It's amazing. he did work I didn't even ask for. he did some staining, some truss work, lowered the bridge, worked on the nut, oiled the fretboard... it didn't even play this good when I first got it.The point of the story is this: if you are a guitarist, having your guitar set up is worth its weight in gold. You won't realize what you were missing until you've had it done by a professional. I haven't stopped playing it since I got it back... on monday... It's wednesday.Have a great day. I'm going to get back to playing.
