Manic Street Preachers to tour United States

The Manic Street Preachers and the US haven't been the best of friends. Beyond the US mix of The Holy Bible and the minor college radio success of 1998's 'If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next', the Welsh rock trio haven't set foot on American soil for a tour in an incredibly long time. (This probably wasn't helped by them playing to Castro in Havana and their general socialist leanings, one would assume.)

However, in what must be some kind of watershed movement, the Manic Street Preachers will play in the United States this autumn. Tickets will go on pre-sale from Wednesday and on general sale on Saturday from Ticketmaster, despite an officially confirmation from the band themselves. Fan forums have picked up on other dates - although these haven't been listed for sale as of yet - and the general consensus is that this could be a tour of epic proportions.

The Manic Street Preachers shows currently listed on Ticketmaster are:

30th September - Varsity Theater, Minneapolis, MN

2nd October - Majestic Theatre, Detroit, MI
7th October - Webster Hall, New York, NY

Given the awesomeness that was the Manics' recent shows promoting Journal For Plague Lovers in the UK, these should be hot tickets.
