Kraftwerk play live with the Great Britain Olympic cycling team

Posted 4 months ago

It's that time of year again, when the back pages of your average newspaper are swamped with stories of top athletes abusing steroids and shaming their sport in front of the watching world in the process.

Yep, it's time for the Tour de France.

Electronica-pioneers Kraftwerk - who created an entire album of music based on Le Tour - played at the Manchester Velodrome on the eve of the first stage, where during the performance of the song 'Tour de France', Team GB's highly successful cycling team - featuring Ed Clancy, Geraint Thomas, Jamie Staff and Jason Kenny, all of whom won gold medals at the Beijing games - rode on the track of the velodrome itself in wave formation, to the delight of the crowd.
