The White Stripes tour film & new album IS ON

Time to start getting your best red/white fashion combos ready, because The White Stripes are coming back, and will probably be in DVD players soon!

According to CBC (via Pitchfork), everyone's favourite sibling/ex-spouses duo are to release a DVD consisting up of footage taken from the band's 2007 tour of Canada, in which every province and territory was blessed by a White Stripes performance in some way, whether it be in concert halls, a kids summer camp, the back of a fishing boat, or on a bus in downtown Winnipeg.



In the article, Jack White explained that these shows were decided on the fly, with barely a couple of hours of planning before the shows were executed. This man obviously doesn't like sitting on his hands waiting for things to come together.

White also mentioned that there will be a seventh Stripes album, the first since the Icky Thump tour of 2007 was cut short because of Meg White's illness. There is no information on a release date or title, but given Jack's current extra-curricular activities, a mid-2010 release seems feasible.
