Posted over 2 years ago
Trawling youtube for a bit of early Scorpions/Schenker to send to a mate, to big him up. Found this gem.Scorpions - I'm Going MadWhile we are on a bit of a Schenker vibe, here is UFO from around 75, with Doctor Doctor. And some Schenker from 81 from one of my mate "Sean's":http://www.seanyates.co.uk/ favourite album. Happy memories of playing this full volume in his Renault 18 Turbo, on the way to a nightclub/drinking establishment.Lost Horizons

  4. RGM says Oh yea Great stuff I dig Yngwie in a band situation better than on his solo stuff... Ever heard his Steeler stuff with Ron Keel?

  5. RGM says Thats Keel's solo stuff not Steeler but in the same vain...

  6. darmuzz says I had forgotten about both Steeler and Keel! I liked Yngwie's Rising Force.

  7. RobinH says I was listening to some Rising Force the other day, first album. Is it my tape or is the production on that album a little thin? From a shreading point of view, Alcatrazz are of further interest because Steve Vai joined the band after Yngwie.

  8. darmuzz says Rising Force production - not sure because I have it on cassette that I taped off someone's LP! Yeah two of the three shredder Trinity were in Alcatrazz: Yngwie and Steve Vai (the other one being Joe Satriani). We all should do posts on shreddiness!!

  9. RobinH says Shreddiness posts, I second that. Saw a great album list in one of the extreme metal mags, can't remember which mag but probably UK's Terrorizer as that's about the only thing I buy on a regular basis. This is the list Joe Satriani - Surfing With The Alien Greg Howe - Greg Howe Racer X - Street Lethal Cacophony - Speed Metal Symphony Steve Vai - Flex-Able Yngwie Malmsteen - Rising Force Vinne Moore - Mind's Eye Chastain - Mystery Of Illusion Tony Macalpine - Maximum Security Chris Impellitteri - Stand In Line Just off to Music-map to get some inspiration for a post. I may be gone some time.
