hey guys - is anyone out there? here goes for my first post on mog.com
new albums this week:
fratellis - costello music
modest mouse - we were dead before the ship even sank
the bees - octopus
air - pocket symphony
kol - becasue of the times
juke joint 2 - compilation
the fratellis - the new supergrass - didnt we have enough in the 90's? its ok for a listen or two.
modest mouse - dissapointing - no where near as good as good news.. unfortunatly..
the bees - kept reading about them in aussie mags - st.pepper meets fast dub.. its intersting for a couple of listens..
air - its different but but a good progression from older stuff - doesnt touch moon safari but its good for about ten listens or so..
kol - im not a religious man myself - religious connotations aside, the new kol album is a good progression from the first two albums.. 80's influences in there like bowie and blondie - a move away from the straight up guitar bass and drums sound.
on another religious note: neon bible is not as good as funeral, the arcade fire's debut album - which kicked ass - lets hope the big man likes the second one more than the rest of us..
the album of the week has to be juke joint two - ive run out of blogging time - do yourself a favour and check it out..
now.. how to i get people to read my blog??

anyway - the fratellis, and AIR!! AIR i dig. i was going to check out the fratellis but to be honest, i am still working my way through all of the other older music that i still dont have on cd. heh. a good new group is Rose Hill Drive.
I heard that the latest Air CD is boring and disappointing. I haven't listened to it myself to make a judgment. I'm interested in what Modest Mouse has to offer.
