So, Wired has the official scoop on the complete tracklist for Elite Beat Agents (the westernized version of Ouendan). It's a quirky rhythm game for the Nintendo DS where you use your stylus to trace patterns on the touch screen in time with the music. The scenarios mostly involve a group of male cheerleaders rooting you on in an odd series of "stories" where you are trying to help people out in different ways.I was very excited about the arrival of this game on American shores, but the tracklist has me severely questioning the title now. Maybe I'll just import Ouendan after all...I've wanted Ouendan ever since it was released, but I held off when a localized version was announced. I just don't know if I can hang with Ashlee Simspon, Hoobastank, Sum 41, and Good Charlotte. Based on the incredible eccentricity of the Japanese version, I thought the last thing the localizing team would do is infest the title with the drivel of American radio. Ugh. Don't get me wrong...There are some great choices here too, including Jamiroquai, David Bowie, and hell, I'll even throw that Chicago track a bone (only because I was once a teenage sap too!).So what do you guys think? Should I import the Japanese version or should I try out Elite Beat Agents instead? Which songs do you feel should have been included, and which ones do you wish had jumped ship?
