Damo's coming! I had no idea! Proves how out of touch I'd been...
Damo Suzuki's touring with his ever-changing variety of like-minded un-rehearsed musicians, and will be at the Roadhouse (the best venue in Manchester by miles) this Friday (16 Nov).
I'll be there (and I'll let you know how it goes). If it's any good, I'll be in St Helens the following night too...
Still can't persuade my mates to show, though. They're all off to see Ryan Adams the previous night, for some reason (will they never learn?)...

My Trusted MOGs
Apologies for the delay there... I went off into a dream.
Damo with Zukanican at the Rendezvous in St Helens was almost as life changing as it was intimate.
Zukanican were impressive enough, and for that reason alone, it was bizarre that the gig had only attracted about 20 people (most of whom appeared to know each other and/or the band), but for Damo to take the stage, riff off them for about an hour (then pop outside with everybody else for a cig) and return to the stage for another long jam left at least me in raptures.
I bought Damo a pint after the show, since the barmaid had clearly no idea who he was and was making a legend pay for his Guinness. Dunno if that's normal in Damo-land, but it aint in mine.
We chatted for a while, about many things. He's so utterly centred, it shames me. The pick of his wisdom was his answer to the question, "Where and when was your best gig?"
"Tomorrow."
DAMN he's good!
