Memorable TV Moment #246

Posted almost 5 years ago
To return to a previous topic, I just caught Iggy & The Stooges on the Jonathan Ross show.Did I cringe? Did I cry? Kinda. I cried with laughter!Maybe I was a bit mean saying it would just be embarrassing to see them try to capture the old magic...But it was certainly worth seeing Iggy cavort amongst the studio cameramen and leer at a non-plussed audience member sneering I Wanna Be Your Dog.This is what TV is all about. And this is what Rock n Roll is all about. Two completely different things! Will somebody please post the footage somewhere on the web - I forgot to Sky Plus it!

  3. midford says Ey up, It was embarrasing, and he could have put a shirt on/ pulled his jeans up, no-one wants to see a 60 odd yr old mans crack. I found Jonathan Ross more embarrasing than Iggy Pop. What's more embarrasing Black Sabbath, with Ian Gillan (in 1992) headbanging like Dads or Iggy, the Stooges now, or my Dad going to see the Quo last Year in Halifax? Did you see The Stooges Glastonbury set? What did you think of that? It was very different to the Jonathan Ross show.

  4. Rev Nev says I did see the Glasta set, via the miracle of Sky+, and he can still make an event out of a gig. Don't doubt it was better than the TV moment, but still. In a perfect world, Glastonbury would be entirely 'orrible chart acts like Keane and Snow Patrol, and all the good music (performed by bands still enjoying the first full flushes of youth) would be at a smaller, less publicised festival, attended by those of us who don't holiday in Greece or buy barbecue equipment from B&Q.
