On February 2, 2011, a message appeared on the band's official website, announcing that The White Stripes officially are done touring and recording new music. It appears that the band would like to quit while they are ahead. The announcement states that "Meg and Jack hope this decision isn't met with sorrow by their fans" but that is unfortunately all I can feel after this news. I'm just extremely grateful to have caught their last tour - they were incredible live. At least I have that, as well as 13 years of music that changed my life.
