I think my heart just stopped...no more tickets for Snow Patrol/ OK GO/ Silversun Pickups concert at the Orlando Hard Rock Live... how did I miss this going on sale??? Sometimes I really hate the college stance on "you must be studiuos and successful in school to do so in life". If I honestly could I would just find a way to travel and go to every concert I could.... minus the country ones...country and I have never been friends or even associated other than my roomates "I like music in the shower so I am gonna blast it so loud that it can go through the paper thin walls of college communities and vibrate picture frames off their roomate's (me) book shelf...and of course believe it or not...it has to be country". Then again I could have probably chosen an easier major?
Just wanted to take a moment to chat up the band Mutemath. I've been listening to their songs for a little over a year and a half even though they were under the label of "christian rock" because some of the band members personal views. Apparently WB records decided this was the best way to market them which they have since fought and won which I suppose this is why they are on a more industry friendly level now. With songs like Typical (my personal favorite), Chaos, Control, Noticed, You are Mine and the instrumental "Reset" you can understand why they have had such a success in the music industry thus far. Plus they have awesome stage presence. If you've ever seen them live...you know the drummer (Darren) instantly catches your attention right off the bat with the taping of his headphones to his head. I actually met them all at a signing they did at UCF and they are all pretty cool guys. They recently toured with The Fray and the lead singer, Paul Meany, kept a YouTube blog that gave insight into how crazy their performances can get. If any of you get a chance definitly check it out because some of the epsiodes are very funny. It will certainly be interesting to see what impact the sudden success they have been having will have on their band chemistry and their future in music. I am excited to see how far they can get personally.

LOL, I just picked up their CD as a promo (i work in a cd store), and I'll be listening more closely! Another band that I believe transcended the whole "CCM" label was Adam Again, based in the 90's. Their music played with funk, soul and hip-hop whilst being a solid rock-pop band.
Just wanted to try this out and start by talking a little about Kate Havnevick. I discovered her through my weekly obsession with Grey's Anatomy (which has become yet another way for me to come across any type of music I may like) and I must say she is very talented. I love her song "New Day" a great deal especially the intrumental parts and all the inflow of techno-y parts. She's set to be released in the US this march as she is currently an inhabitant of the UK. I expect with songs like "Grace" and "Unlike Me", she will by no means make a small splash with girls here in the US. Think of a cross between Dido and Imogen Heap is probably the best way I can describe it right now...

Welcome! I found her while perusing myspace one day and it didn't take much for me to become a fan. She's got a great sound.
