Wanna impress your girl or guy with out losing your "indie" status..... well then look no further my fellow moggers. Check out this brand new cookbook entitled I Like Food, Food Tastes Good: In the Kitchen With Your Favorite Bands which features recipes from over 100 of your favorite rockers. Thats right folks, 100 recipies from bands like Belle & Sebastian, Ben Kweller, Death Cab for Cutie, the Decemberists, Devendra Banhart, Franz Ferdinand, the Hold Steady, Interpol, the Mountain Goats, My Morning Jacket, NOFX, Okkervil River, Shonen Knife, Smoosh, They Might Be Giants, the Violent Femmes, and the Walkmen. The book is named after a classic Descendents song and it even features their recipe for pico de gallo. I love to cook, and can't wait for this to come out, you can order the book here.http://www.amazon.com/Like-Food-Tastes-Good-Favorite/dp/1401308740/sr=8-1/qid=1167249597/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-4169078-9515242?ie=UTF8&s=books

  4. kellywatchthestars says I've heard about this... Although it might not be quite as interesting as Cooking in the Nude - a title I came across at a yard sale today (but sadly did not purchase).

  5. SamTheButcher says A book that cribs it's title from a Descedents song? That's for me. :) And Kelly - You *always* buy the Cooking in the Nude book. *Always*. :)

  6. Dale says I have a love/hate relationship with food, as all fat people do. I wouldn't say no to another cookbook, as I love to cook as much as I love to eat.

  7. Rawkkiddoh says Blair, hope I did not disappoint Lester, had BBQ the other night, nothing beats a steak on the grill Tee, I think bright eyes recipie had something to do with a bowl of oranges kelly, I can not believe you did not get that book I have to agree with Sam on this one, cooking in the nude is a must buy...unless its near a deep fryer. dale, I too love to cook as much as I love to eat.

  8. Lester Jonze says I feel that love/hate relationship. And I cook in the nude whenever possible, making sure not to stand too close to the stove, and for BBQ, I'm all about some brisket at this point.

  14. 1234chainsaw says I don't need a cookbook to cook in the nude either, but I think I may have to check the indie one out - there's a "Main Courses for Vegetarians" section! I'm also glad to see people appreciate pomegranate juice as a modified-Cosmo ingredient.

  15. Augusts1 says Nairing your entire body eh Kev. TMI! T-to the M- to the I yay yay! Sheesh, don't you have ANY boundaries, lol? Sounds like a very cool cookbook though. I'm definitely a gourmet cook & love to experiment w/different flavors. I recently made a mexican mole rice dish for a party & many people raved about it & a few asked for the recipe. I had to inform them there was no recipe since I rarely follow them, lol! At another Easter party I went to I made a cold whole wheat & regular penne pasta salad w/roasted red peppers & roasted garlic, broccoli, fresh basil, rosemary, fresh meyer lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil & a few other secret seasonings. It was totally gone by the end of the night, lol! Just call me the killer cook!

  23. Anna says I'm very good at eating. There's no point in someone cooking, if there's no one around to eat it other than him! I provide a service, really. And chocolate dessert.

  24. kristiana says Boy, you know how to get my attention. Sounds great, I'll have to check it out. Nair eh? I knew you had it in you, Kev. I LOVE to cook, read about food, etc. Just lately I'm getting used to cooking for groups, a bit daunting but very satisfying when pulled off. Funny too, right before I saw this post I was just going on to someone about the fascinating roles food plays in culture. And yet I haven't had breakfast yet. Unless you consider coffee breakfast. Which the descendents would probably approve of. Lester, it's not bbq season there yet? Hell, as soon as the snow is off the porch and that biting wind dies down I'm on it. I like me some ribs, oh baby, yeah. I've got a killer rib sauce which reminds me goddamnit I was supposed to email that to someone and totally forgot.
