As I sit here typing away I know my wife’s parents are on the road heading to my neck of the woods. My wife is from Kapuskasing, Ontario and it’s about a 16 hour drive due north to her home town. You might ask, "Why not fly?" and the answer to that is there are no airports close to her home town. She does not get to see her parents as much as she would like, so when they come to visit they usually stay for 2 weeks. While many people might find this a pain to deal with, I don't mind it too much. Granted our house is small, and finding alone time can be difficult, it’s made easier because they are two of the nicest people to be around on a daily basis. I have always enjoyed my drives to her hometown, nothing beats driving in Northern Canada with a car full of tunes. The scenery is breath taking, and lack of police makes the speed limit disappear. I know I have a few more things to clean before they get here, my wife likes the house to look tip top when they arrive. I also have another soccer game tonight which means I will be late to the hip hop party that should start around 7 or so. Just like last week, I am forced to post my contribution to hip hop Thursdays early, with a song that I would be more than happy to drive to.
