Operation Ivy Reissue On Rancid Records

Posted over 2 years ago
There are certain albums in my collection that hold special meaning to me. One such album is Operation Ivy's "Energy". Saw this on punkbands.com and it might be the best re-release of 2007.There is a full page black and white ad in the latest issue of Punk Rock Confidential that will be of interest to Operation Ivy fans. The ad is simple, black and white - the famous ska man from the "Energy" album. The classic cd, which has been out of print since being pulled from Lookout!, will be made available again. The ad says Rancid Records, May 1st 2007, and "It's back after 2 years and remastered.

  4. jameson says Op Ivy were so raw and organic, straight up roots/punk/ska. Two minute songs of social justice with substance and meaning

  6. chulsmith says august ::: 2/3 of this band went on to form rancid (lint aka tim armstrong, and matt mccall aka matt freeman) there is a pretty good tribute album out there for these guys, too. it's called 'take warning: the songs of operation ivy' or something like that.

  7. Augusts1 says I'll try & find it. Actually if you have it Kev, can you upload it to M for me? Chul, at the end of the video there are band credits & I saw Tim Armstrong's name & recalled he's now in Rancid(I had already made my comment by the time I saw that). Thanks for the heads up though. And where the hell have you been? Haven't seen you post or comment on mog for awhile. Wassup wit dat?

  10. spazzzz says Love Op Ivy! Still wear my t-shirt at least once a week, and it's one of those albums that's miraculously stayed in rotation for me throughout all of my changing musical tastes. Anyone heard Tim Armstrong's recent solo ska/reggae project? Not bad, but it's not operation ivy that's for sure.
