WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Wanna see some great music?

Posted over 2 years ago
Being a new dad, I have not watched the many television shows that are made for children in quite a while. I was told kids love to watch television, and as an experiment I tried to get my 15 month old son to watch. He was having nothing to do with the old boob tube instead he would rather play with music on in the back round over watching tv any day. I like this fact, and am more than happy to have him play and explore rather than have him sit for hours watching kids specials. He recently came down with the flu, and moving around was not on his list of things to do. If you have ever seen someone who is so hung over, movement is kept at a bare minimum, then you have seen my son with the flu. I decided to go to the library to check out a few Sesame Street DVD's, and was amazed at how many musical artists they had on singing with the gang. I did a little research, and the list of musical artists that have performed on Sesame Street is incredible. Seeing it is so long, I will post it in the comment section. Its great to see these musicians out of their normal element, and doing things like this with their free time. Oh, side note here, apparently my son has a crush on Sheryl Crow. Everytime she sang "I Soaks Up The Sun" he would smile and giggle.

  3. mickimicki says ...over here, there's also (audio) tapes with classic Sesame Street songs (translated, obviously). If the originals are anything as funny, cute, (and educative of course), you guys will have lots of fun (and they're probably even better)... totally one of the joys of parenthood IMHO...

  12. Rawkkiddoh says Chul, that was an accident, as for right now he gets his groove on to Regina Spektor Micki, they have all been great so far. One I liked a lot was the Fugees doing the alphabet song. They made it look like an MTV video. August, I grew up watching it and a lot of the old skits that I saw this past week I knew word for word. Its crazy how that stuff sticks with you. Michelle, you should watch the Elmopalooza. Lots of great music videos in it, even if it is for children. Hmmm, I think we all dream about dancing with muppets! Cam, hilarious............mammeries!

  16. Mike the Knife says Worthwhile music on "The Muppet Show" and "Sesame Street"? What's up with you people? Next thing you know, someone'll make the ridiculous suggestion that MTV used to have music, too.
