SOUNDS OF FUTURE PAST AND PRESENT PERFECT

Brandy, not such a fine girl?

Posted over 2 years ago
So someone might want to call up Snoop's lawyer for Brandy, looks like she is in a heap of trouble. In case you had not heard, Brandy was driving a Land Rover on Interstate 405 on Dec. 30 when traffic slowed and her vehicle struck the back of Honda driven by Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, according to a CHP report. This resulted in Aboudihaj's death after the initial collision cause her car to slide into a series of other crashes. Since the accident happened the California Highway Patrol recommended Monday that actress-singer Brandy be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. The charge carries a maximum sentence of one year in county jail and a $1,000 fine. This of course makes me wonder, what will happen to season 2 of America's Got Talent?

  3. Augusts1 says I think Chucky might have meant that it's horrible all the way around because it happened. It would be an awful situation for ANYONE to be in. Poor Brandy & that deceased woman's family. I had seen a news blurb about it on my ISP home page before I saw your post. Something like that could happen to anyone. I'm sure Brandy is really messed up over it too. She always seemed like such a genuinely sweet & nice woman, so I'm sure it's affecting her majorly, how could it not unless you're some type of cold calculated monster.

  4. dermahrk says Wow, how could Brandy ever afford that $1,000 fine? The wheels of justice are rollin' now!

  5. mickimicki says @ Augusts: That's what I think. Even a nice girl can cause an accident. Man, I have been in a few minor crashes, that shit happens fast! I'm sorry for the victim and the family, but I'm sorry for her, too. Maybe she won't need "Snoop's lawyer". Maybe she'll stand to her responsibility.

  6. Rawkkiddoh says I had not seen the accident photos until today, and I feel there was something going on to make her hit that womans car as hard as she did. I am going out on a limb here and going to say another cell phone related accident. I really cant stand cell phones, especially when people are driving. I know this will most likely get me blacklisted here, but I really dont see the need for people to be talking all the time while they are driving. As for the post, I was not trying to make light of the situation, and I understand that Brandy is a nice person. However, when you take the wheel of an automobile, you are the one in charge. I really dont care about her superstardom here, she killed another persons and should suffer the consequences just like I would if I killed someone while driving.

  7. chucky says Yep - what August said is what I meant by that. I didn't mean I thought you were making light of the situation. It's just so damn unfortunate. On one hand, yes I think she deserves to be punished for it. On the other, I've rear ended people before and I know how easy it is to do - it can happen so fast. The report I saw this morning said the traffic had slowed on the highway and I am all too familar with that. You are trucking along at 70 miles an hour and right over a hill everybody is at a dead stop. It's out of your control at that point. If she were on the phone, I think that makes her more culpable. I don't use my phone when I drive, because it seems like common sense to me. But, an accident is just that. She may be crucified for this precisely because she's a celebrity. She didn't get in her car with the intentions of killing someone. But, then you have to balance that against the very real fact that a lady died. Her family doesn't get her back even if it was just an accident. So, like I said up top - it's just horrible.

  9. chucky says Offended? Me? Nope. Haha, I thought I had offended you - hence the long explanation. (Got to love the hiccups of written communication.:) )
