WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Make the pain go away

Posted over 2 years ago
Well, almost a full 24 hours later and I seem to be back into normal shape. What feels like 7 pounds lighter, and a stomach that feels like I have been doing sit-ups all night with Tony Little yelling in my ear, I seem to have kicked this food poisoning episode. As I sat in my own private hell last night, I remember thinking, "make the pain go away." This immidiately made me think of a song by Mobb Deep, "Drink Away the Pain". How thoughtful of these musical artist to give suggestions as how to get rid of pain. Although they were of no help last night, here are some of the more popular suggestions as how to get rid of pain.1. Mobb Deep - "Drink Away the Pain" Helpful, but may cause pain the next day2. Rod Lee - "Dance My Pain Away" Dance Billy Elliot, dance!3. Nothin Fancy - "Your Love Takes the Pain Away" I have heard this is tough to find4. James Down - " Wash the Pain Away" Not helpful unless you have crabs5. Peaches - "Fuck the Pain Away" You really need to ok this one with your partnerWhile none of the above would have helped me with my predicament last night, I am sure next time I am feeling not so well, I will have a little laugh thinking of those songs. As for tonight, Mobb Deep has it right.

  12. chucky says Possibly the only good thing about being sick is all the loopy places your brain will take you to escape the pain. haha.

  13. fistula spume says You can listen to Depeche Mode's "A Pain That I'm Used To" for irony or DMZ's "Can't Stand the Pain". Food poisoning is the worst. Had it recently and it's no walk ze park. It's a puke in the park. So sorry for your ordeal.

  14. Marta says Glad you are feeling more yourself! That type of sickness is a true test of a relationship too. Like Johnny Knoxville before me, I have banned the puking reflex from ever occuring - it has almost been 5 years now!

  16. Rawkkiddoh says Great stuff again Augusta, I think we need to become his manager and get him into some hollywood roles, Fistula, you are so right, its not a walk in ze park, and its not with ze Germans. Marta, I wish I could have banned the puking reflex, I was more like Steve O for about 24 hours. LadyC, there are many perks to living in France, one of which is not knowing who Tony Little is. He is a staple on late night infomercials here in the states. To get a taste of who he is, click here http://www.tonylittle.com/

  21. Augusts1 says Yea, Tony Little is seriously scary! Very overthetop energy like he's on speed or something, eeck. Found that interview w/Peaches on IFC.com & it's good but short, they only have a clip that's 1:09 minute long which is far from enough! But Peaches definitely gave that minute a run for it's money, lol. She talks about her live performances & giving 500% & how people will tell her it was like an actual rock show w/o all the atmospherics since it's all about her energy she puts into the performance. I'd like to see the rest of the interview, so I'll keep looking. Might be on her site. Thanks for the heads up.

  23. Zeroskilz says Rawk, I believe that you have turned a tragedy (both your personal tragedy and the existence of Mr. Little and his infomercials) into a very amusing post.

  24. Rawkkiddoh says Why thank you Zero! (both your personal tragedy and the existence of Mr. Little and his infomercials) laughed out loud at that.

  25. Augusts1 says Rawk, found the Peaches/Rollins interview on youtube(youtube seriously rules!). Here it is for anyone else who wants to see it: Peaches has it all figured out man, love her thoughts on trying to balance the unbalanced in music & push the boundaries to make people think.
