This morning I decided to tackle on of the larger portions of my record collection to pick out my favorite "punk" album. I have been going through searching for the top 11 albums in my collection and needless to say its been a daunting task. I was trying to find the one album in each genre that I could not live with out, so far the list is as follows.1. Favorite hip-hop - Tribe Called Quest - "Low End Theory"2. Favorite Foreign - Jean Leloup - "Le Dome"3. Favorite Classic Rock - Neil Young - "Harvest"4. Favorite Comedy - David Cross - "It's Not Funny"Today I was not sure what I was going to go with, some of my old school favorites, something more on todays standards of "punk" or some silly pop punk shite that the kids are listening to these days. My focus got narrowed pretty quickly and I settled on the NOFX album, "So Long and Thanks For All the Shoes". I would say it's the one NOFX album I listen to at least once a week, and it never gets old for me. After doing some research on the album in general, I found out this happens to be Fat Mike's favorite recording they have done. I feel this album has it all, comedy, social commentary and even a rare NOFX love song. For a band that has been dubbed the punk Rolling Stones, this would be their Exile On Main Street.
