So Crashpryor has gotten me onto a bit of a ska kick. I have found myself getting out more and more of its music, and playing it in the backround while I am searching for work in the great state of Minnesota. It's a genre that is highly underrated, and I feel should get its proper due. Trojan records has been putting out cd's since 1967. Their whole thing is to try and "present the very best in classic Jamaican sounds". While diving into a new type of music can be dangerous on the bank account, they have made it easy to get a good taste of their music at a nice price. I would suggest you head over to www.trojanrecords.com, and check out their various artists selction on their web site. In particular, look for their box sets that they have for about 15.00 U.S. If you are lucky and you have a good record store near you, they might even have them their. I can't think of a cheaper box set in which you get 3 cd's of such great music. Artists like Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, The Skatalites and many others fill up the track list on each box set. Its music that is perfect for just about any occasion, and you won't be find a better deal for your money. My personal favorite is the Trojan 35th Anniversary Box Set, and you get a great taste for all the artists on their label. If you haven't given ska a shot yet, please do. You won't be disappointed.
