I have been reading a lot of posts about how mog has lost its touch. I think part of me feels this way, but for me it has to do soley with my page. I can not change anything on it, and I have no idea why this has happened. It started with my mog meter which up until this day has stayed under the radar. I have asked questions about this, yet nothing has been done to fix the problem. Recently, my mog o matic stopped all together. My recently played never changes, and my recently added to collection makes it seem as if I never add anything to my itunes collection. This last week was the final straw I guess, I went to chenge around some things and low and behold I can no longer do that as well. Something as simple as changing around the people I trust is something I can no longer do, and as of right now my mog page has become frozen. I dont know who even to contact about this sort of thing, yet I continue to get hundreds of emails daily, and try to respond to as many as I can. The feeling of my homepage being generic though has caused me to respond less and less, but who am I to complain right?
Almost forgot, should add something musically to this post, and that will be the song I listened to on the way in from my soccer game tonight. I was a brick wall, and stopped every shot that came my way leading my team to a 4 nil victory in the process. It is about time to hit up the bar for some drinks..........and by bar I mean I am going to head upstairs to make myself a whiskey coke. Have a good night mogworld, sorry for being the squeaky wheel.

Maybe you remember, a couple of weeks ago I actually announced that I deleted my mog account. Reason being that I was having the same problem as you with my preferences area (it took them 6 weeks to fix the issue after I first made contact). It took a lot out of me to decide to hit that "delete profile" button but I did. A couple of hours later someone told me that my page was still up, I came back to check it out and sure enough I was still here. My preferences page was so broken that it wouldn't even let me leave with dignity. So I figured since I'm still here I might as well give it a second go.

ya i really wish we could get some new skins. or an easier profile designer. but i know thats the last thing on their minds. plus i can see a lot of those spammers getting carried away if they had so much freedom. personally ive never really had an issue with mog. its always run fine on my compy. of course i never dloaded mogomatic.
i've had the same problem, down to the inability to edit widgets. i've tried to delete old widgets and in their place create new ones, but even those, i can't edit. in other words, i can't _add_ any entries to the widgets at all. at the moment i just pretty much deleted them all except a few.

Mogomatic was always too intrusive for me, I don't need for people to know all that useless info, the stuff that write about is enough.
Haven't been on MOG much lately, but I've also been hearing more complaints about MOG from people who don't really complain about much or at all MOG. I got to my page now...

I feel your pain Kev. My page hasn't updated in several months now & I just haven't had the energy to try to deal w/it w/all that's going on in my real life right now. Sure, I was frustrated w/it at first & looked into trying to do something about it but really, it's the least of my worries . . . .
Kevin, I have the same problem, I've had it for over a month now. I contacted a technician, and I know it's a bug that many other people have as well, and they're working on fixing it.
Patience patience patience :) I just don't bother, and get busy with posting and commenting.

I must have been innoculated against the bug. No real problems at my end for a while. But MOG Central should do whatever needs to be done to keep Rawk functional and comfortable. Plenty of us dig ya and want ya around, Kevin.
Mog-O-Matic stopped working for me months ago when I switched to a new computer with Vista. I can still manipulate my page, though. Hang in there. We don't need to lose another in the diminishing field of great Moggers.

first of all, much love for the song...but you know how much the libertines mean to me. that song, it especially hold significance (along with about three others), as it feels very biographical to the two of them and also, well it is a sentiment i've felt...well...its early and i am rather pre-coffee rambly...i'll stop.
but damn, i love this song.
as for mog, the only issue i've had is that my loggin was messed up for a day, and i couldnt sign in correctly. i wrote to the help function and they helped me quickly. i haven't tried to change the skin as the one i have is an old favorite from my early days here...and i've been able to change my "mogs i trust".
the big thing i've read is that people are disheartened by the feel of the place, the commericalized tone of things, and the lack of what it all was at the start. i suppose for me i just think that the main reason i am here is for the people - so i just dont worry on much else, read the few people i really am here for, and post when the music moves me. the majority of my real music writing lives on my blog anyway, and that i can aggregate onto multiply.
the problems you are having would frustrate me, though...but i hope you stay. xxx
I deleted Mog-O-Matic a while back and when I did, Clay Aiken showed up on my page as most recently listened to. Now, if that was someone's idea of a joke, I'd love it...I mean THAT'S REALLY FUNNY, right?...but I can't update my widgets either. I like to keep track of the bands I've see live and what's coming up for me...and although it lets me do the work, the update just doesn't take.
So I apologize for the odor of my stale profile. I promise to never judge you on yours if you don't judge me by mine--especially that Clay Aiken part.

to make a long story short, we put aggressive cacheing on top mogger pages to make them load faster. it came with severe repurcussions. we're reverting and we found ohter ways to make the pages fast.

Don't want to bitch about Mog either, cause I'm not the best Mogger myself (becoming lazy!) But I have noticed that I find it hard to find posts I want to read when I'm browsing through all the latest posts. OK this is because of much more users - which is a good thing - but now I just tend to check out My Trusted Mogger's posts and have a click around from there. Though I do find the Mog Gazette rather useful for finding interesting posts!

nope, still cant do anything on my page but change my avitar, cant even change my top list of trusteds. Also, mog o matic now says there is no connection to mog anymore............by update did he mean blocked?
