Ok, he didn't really leave but he is releasing a solo album on October 28th. Tom Gabel of Against Me! has confirmed details and a release date for his recently unveiled solo project. If you are wondering what this might sound like, go listen to the Against Me! acoustic album, and then mellow it down a few notches.The record is titled Heart Burns and is due out October 28, 2008. Tom promises that the 7-song EP will be available on CD, Vinyl, and as a digital download. Tom's new myspace page features two demo recordings though neither is set to appear on the EP when it is released.

On October 28th Sire Records will release my first solo EP, entitled "Heart Burns". It will be available on CD, Vinyl, and as a digital download. Well, consider this an early Christmas present to all you Against Me! fans, I know this news made my night and then some. One of my favorite albums by them happens to be The Acoustic EP, and nothing makes my day better than Tom's voice along side an acoustic guitar. You don't believe me, well then just watch the video.

I certainly was surprised by your headline & I'm not much of a fan, although I like them. The vid song is great!
I am a big big fan of this guy, love this video which was my 1st exposure to this band.. and his vocals... wow! Thanks for sharing will check it out for sure!
Yeah, this is great stuff. Tom is a talented guy and unlike other in the genre who play acoustic, poorly.
