Dillinger Four set to release Civil War

I know this will not be news to most, it seems punk music gets swept under the rug a lot here on MOG. Big news today though, Dillinger Four have finally set an official date for the release of their new album titled Civil War. That would make it almost 6 years since the boys of D4 have released an album, and seeing they are one of my favorite bands it couldn't come at a better date.
Six years is a long time to wait to make another album, but thats what happens when you buy a bar and make it into one of the best spots in Minneapolis to catch a live punk show. In 2002 they released Situationist Comedy on Fat Wreck and it easily became one of the best punk albums of the year. Then it seems the band fell of the radar, that is unless you live in Minneapolis and frequent the Triple Rock Social Club.
The Triple Rock is the place to go to catch a punk show, and for a time D4 put recording on the back burners. Well, wait no more because the new album is set to be released on October 14, 2008. In case you are wondering what they sound like, here is a video for you to watch.

And here I though punk was dead, heh. Not bad, not bad at all. But you're right the genre doesn't get much love here. Glad they're finally releasing something new. I'm sure they did it just for you too!

Yea, I could barely post my comment amongst the sea of punk fans, heh. I do have to admit that I'm not much on punk myself. A little goes a long way for me. I do like a little punk edge to my music but straight up punk doesn't do all that much for me. Just being supportive of my Tripbro!

Whats up Raw. What did you think of Civil War? I used to be really into these guys, but wasn't in love with SC and lost track of em. Recently been listening to versus god a lot, I'll have to give the new one a shot. D4 was always fun live.
Gritty - I thought the album was pretty damn good but then again I am not the one to ask. I love all of their stuff, but this one was one I have been wanting to be released for quite some time. It ranks up there with my favorites by them although midwestern songs is still my all time love.
Just read an article about these guys releasing their album in the ol' star tribune. I honestly haven't heard any of their stuff before this. Not bad.
