Who is your MOG equivalent?

Quite often I find myself reading the home pages of many of the people here on MOG. One of my favorite things to look at is people's online musical collections. If I see some bands listed that I like, well I usually dig a little deeper to see if there is anything that I had not heard before and in turn head over to Itunes to give them a listen.
My question here is this, if you had to trade computers with any person here on MOG, whose online musical collection would you say is closest to yours? I know there are moggers who I connect with because of their posts, yet musically we see things in a different light. I mean come on, Anna and Joxley tried to explain to me how great ABBA is and I am still not buying what they are selling.
Last night I began to do my own search of a mogger whose musical collection looked like mine and in the end I found a mogger named makeshift who looked to be a perfect match. I think what was most intersting about this was the fact that he/she has been a mogger since May 2007 and not once have they made a post.
I checked to see when was the last time they logged on and it appears this mogger logs into mog every day. I guess if I had to trade computers with someone it would be this person, can you head into the mogosphere and find your musical match?

Abba sucks.
amen to that lester............but dont try and tell the europeans that
Interesting question.
The "MOGgers Most Like Me" has never worked in my case because I share an iTunes library with my 15-year-old daughter, which means that my collection matches best with those who are into the harder end of emo as well as soul, reggae, African and Brazilian. Needless to say, this type of music lover is a bit thin on the ground....
I wouldn't call any of the following people my musical "twins," but we do share certain tastes and I would love to spend an afternoon with computer access to the collections (along with an unlimited number od blank CDs) of Cody, Spike and Baudolino.
At the same time, it's important to note that I often learn the most from people whose tastes I do not share....
I hear ya there Ivy, I do the same especially when it comes to genres that I am not to well versed in. Cody has helped me with my Jazz hands
"You are the Dancing Queeeeeeeen!" ahahahaha, not a big Abba fan but I do like them on occasion.
Yea, I find that people who supposedly have similar tastes as I do, don't really in reality!
i would trade with hyman
You know, I don't call Anna my twin just because she's so darn cute. Though it helps. ;)
BrianJay is pretty close to my stuff- Beatles, Blur, Blues Explosion, Jesus and Mary Chain, MxPx, Bowie, A Tribe Called Quest, Frank Black, Pixies, Grandaddy, Ted Leo, Daft Punk, Suicide Machines!, Jets to Brazil, Jarvis Cocker, Yo La Tengo, Arctic Monkeys-I'd say we're alligned about 80%. The thing is, I still have a like of punk/pop in my collection, so considering that I listen to a lot of indie label bands, it makes for a hard find. I'm not the most diverse music listener but pop/punk listeners are hard to find w/ the over 30 crowd.
BTW - ABBA is OK but don't get on me for having it in my collection, it's only there for my wife who often gets the urge to listen to that or Jamiroquai (Jairoquai is way better).
We have a new feature that we're working on at MOG HQ that does some algorythmic magic and will find your musical match. I ran the test script, and rawkkiddoh, your match is actually a mogger name notsotough.
See their page here: http://mog.com/notsotough
makeshift is the third closest to you. The second is palmcorder, but notstough is several factors closer than the others.
Can't wait to roll this featiure out.
Awesome--can't wait to try that new feature out! Being the elitist snob I am, I haven't really found any other MOGger quite like me, but I would guess that one of our newer members, Conrad Poos, is pretty close in many respects.
And I'll say it--ABBA rocks. Screw you if you can't handle that!
I have no peers! (For better or worse...)
Abba sucks.
August, the whole online collection can be tricky. I know with mine I have about a fifth of what I actually have in my collection.
Steve, you and me both I can only imagine what he has cooking
Dale, I am starting to wonder if you two were seperated at birth
Eric, like Lester said......oh and I do find that you and I are pretty close as far as it comes to musical tastes
tjay, here is the funny thing........notsotough was a mog page I set up in my leave from mog. I wanted to say something regarding Crash Pryors death and also used it to check around mog. Safe to say he and I have the exact same music collection
Groon you are also different because you happen to be alive. You will find more like us once your death becomes concrete
Mike, that is because we all look up to you!
Oh and Lester..............
I have no idea who my musical equivalent is, but I would like to know, so that new feature sounds great!
also ABBA does suck, but Sweden is awesome. :)
HA!
Groon has very similar tastes to myself and I think Baudolino has a pretty cool list of stuff
rawkkiddo -- that's awesome. not an exact match, you must have a slit personality.
mike the knife -- you do have a peer, but I'm not sharing ;)
Pretty much it's.... White and Nerdy... cause he's my brother, and we share a lot of music and what not... also his computer is downstairs right now..
deg - did not mean to give that impression, the picture just made me laugh
lester - thought you would like that
conrad - groon is on my short list since he was the one who caused my death in mog wars!
tjay - I have switched the mog o matic over a while ago and in turn added more music to my collection. I do laugh when I see my self at the top of similar music from other mogger widget on my home page
Iren - I never knew, you could be the first brother moggers that I know of
"Brother moggers" sounds like a substitute curse word....
Amber...
My closest musical soul brothers appear to be RXMusic and The Time Machine. But I'll be very interested in the algorythm, since "Mogs like me" and the MOG music recommendations pretty much suck.
You guys suck, you cannot appreciate ABBA ;P
It's gotta be Dale, followed by Neill :)
I can appreciate them anna, as long as they are not on my radio!
I have a pretty wide collection, but the depth of Ivy in Brazillian, Baudilino in reggae, Spike in everything ancient, and fisty in everything else..I miss Jen Kelley, Andrea, and soulrocket a bunch for their stuff as well. For new stuff..I could pick almost anyone on here and go hog wild in their collections.
I'm with Ivy..I get so much knowledge from folks who are not my musical match...
Finally, after a year and a half or so..the music (while important and the basis for being here) is taking a real back seat to the community for me. Sure I'm interested in what folks play, but what really gets me is what they say about it.
Annie...
;)
Fine!
And how about the band you used to tag this post? Is it working out for ya? (don't hurt me...)
actually they are quite a bit.......never know ABBA might be the next band I tag
Oh, this feels like truth or dare - crushing on people's tastes.
not really, just whose music collection do you think is most like yours but if you would like to go the dare route I can think up some things for that
Haha, well contrabandwidth consistently matches my tastes.
there you go..........now would you like the dare?
Only if it involves raiding peoples hard drives.
The obvious choice is my brother PapaG, who is consistently listed as the Mogger most similar to me, which is kinda eerie, although I guess he taught me more than I realize about music. I sorted Moggers Like Me by Most Similar, looking for people who had Bruce Springsteen and Sleater-Kinney in their Top Ten Total Tracks list, and there was PapaG again. Maybe the best reply, because it leads me to check out a new-to-me MOG, is that Dale might be my MOGuivalent. I typed "springsteen sleater mog" into Google, and the second MOG to turn up (mine was first) was Dale's.
MMmmmmm, lets see what Last fm says.....
Dale, followed by Anna.
...
I am gonna snag Amber *&* Annie as my swapsisters !!!
ROCKNROLLPIMP! BITCH
ABBA SUCKS
I've never been impressed with the "MOGers Like Me" function, but that could be because I don't have all my music online. The MOGers I've found with similar tastes I've just randomly stumbled across. Bicycleshed has a collection that pretty much mirrors mine. In my quest to kill her off I discovered Lizziegreeneyes has a lot of the same music, so I would say she's a close second. But the people whose MOGs I love reading the most I don't seem to have much in common with musically.
And ABBA doesn't suck.

well Mimi
opinions are like assholes like me
if abba dosen't suck
THEY SURE AS HELL DON'T RAWK!
boo-yah!
dermahrk and inrumford seem to be my closest soul moggers. I connect with just about every one of their musical selections.
well PIMP,
I can't argue with logic like that. ;)
well I think you are both right, they do not suck but they surely do not rawk
I might add pimp does rawk!
