It is Sunday night and for the first time in a long time I have no school work to do. This is a big event for me, usually my Sunday nights are busy with correcting papers, lesson planning and filling out my weekly progress reports. This Sunday is different and I know tomorrow morning I will not have to wake up at my usual time in order to go into work. I spent my Sunday night catching up on music, and of course catching up on MOG. Like I said before, this almost feels new to me because in the middle of a school year your only thoughts tend to be that of school. I had my first moment of, "How did that get by me" when I saw one of my favorite music artists had released an album this past week. I guess it comes with the territory, life sneaks up on you sometimes and the little enjoyments like music take a back seat. I was more than happy to come onto MOG tonight and see the old tradition of sunday covers in full effect. I used to love coming on to hear what covers moggers had hidden in their vaults, I think mostly because I have always been fond of a great cover song. So with that I add to the already long list, and like many of you I chose this song for a reason.I have not been to a live show in almost over a year. I have found that with a child and a teaching career live shows seemed to have been packed away somewhere in my basement. Tonight though, as I was browsing around the net I saw a show that was coming up that in no way will I miss. One of my favorite bands, Alkaline Trio, will be playing a free show here in Minnesota. I would have paid money to see these gentlemen, but the fact that it is free makes me that much more excited. The song is Radio, and the band covering is Hot Water Music. Enjoy!
