Can't say it's been easy

Its almost been a year since I left MOG, found myself a working mans job and felt I had to focus all my attention to the students in my room. I left MOG unemployed, and am coming back a fourth grade teacher. As the end of the school year is approaching I know I am going to have to have something to fill my time. While I was teaching I spent the majority of my nights journaling, something I had not done in quite sometime. Now with the end of school just two days away, I am wrapping up a journal that has exceeded my expectations. In the course of the school year I have recorded my life with my 24 fourth graders, and needless to say it has not been an easy journey. I have 430 pages of the daily occurrences in a typical classroom, although what I have gone through this last year is not what many of you remember from your days in school. It was on the way home from school today that a song came on my radio, and made me think of just why it is so great to be a kid in school again. It feels good to be back in MOG's good graces, and hope I can find a place again amongst all you moggers.

And Bravo for chronicling your trials and travails. You are an amazing teacher, but I have to admit that I had to take some breaks from reading your daily exploits, I just didn't have the stomach you do. Welcome back, it's so good to see an old friend return, even if they're the online kind.

I remember when you were weighing your options and trying to decide if you should pursue this teaching path. I'm thrilled to hear it went well, coz the youth today need all the support and good role models they can get. Teachers are more crucial than ever before, yet so many have given up/burnt out. much respect to you for accepting the challenge! i look forward to new music-crack addictions from you this summer! and - surely it's only a coincidence, but - there's another 4th grade teacher on MOG lately who is slowly opening up to the MOG fam.
