morning music sometimes feels so right

Today I headed into work knowing I would have no little kids to deal with. Today was a conference prep day and I knew I would be busy marking report cards for the upcomming conferences I would be having with the parents of my students. Many teachers I know come in at the last possible second on these days, they look at it as a chance to sleep in because they know they do not have a room full of kids waiting for them at school. Me on the other hand I usually go in extra early so I can get in the right mind set before tackling the pages of report cards that lay ahead of me. On days like this there is only two things that are important to me, a good cup of coffee and some music to play loudly. I usually make a mix for the occasion, but my computer at school is loaded with music so I was going to let that guide me for my morning.
I got into my room and started up my coffee pot right away, I knew the sooner I had coffee the better off I would be. I then hit shuffle on my itunes, and began to prepare for the day as if it were a normal day of school. This means putting art work up for the arrival of my kids, and chosing a news story of the day. (today I picked the story about the kid in England who sold his happy meal toy collection for $11,000) I had just finished up my morning message and was ready to pour myself a cup o joe and settle in at my desk to begin the 80 pages of report cards that lay before me.
Then a song came on that I had not heard in such a long time. I really could do nothing but sit back, watch the sun come up over the St. Paul skyline and drink my coffee with a smile on my face. I absolutly love when music does that to you, makes you take a step back and watch the world as it comes to life right before your face. Enjoy the track moggers and happy monday to all of you.
Do you feel like a chain store?
Practically floored
One of many zeros
Kicked around bored
Your ears are full but your empty
Holding out your heart
To people who never really
Care how you are
So give me coffee and tv
History
Ive seen so much
Im goin blind
And Im braindead virtually
Sociability
Its hard enough for me
Take me away form this big bad world
And agree to marry me
So we can start all over again
Do you go to the country
It isnt very far
Theres people there who will hurt you
Cos of who you are
Your ears are full of the language
Theres wisdom there youre sure
til the words start slurring
And you cant find the door
So give me coffee and tv
History
Ive seen so much
Im goin blind
And Im braindead virtually
Sociability
Its hard enough for me
Take me away form this big bad world
And agree to marry me
So we can start all over again
So give me coffee and tv
History
Ive seen so much
Im goin blind
And Im braindead virtually
Sociability
Its hard enough for me
Take me away form this big bad world
And agree to marry me
So we can start all over again
Oh...we could start over again
Oh...we could start over again
Oh...we could start over again
Oh...we could start over again

nice post RAWK! Iit is like you said, time to just let the music roll and dthe worries fall off your shoulders.. music can be so powerful in that way. Good luck on your report cards, I'll be writing reviews all week as well here! Cheers! INdy x
thanks man, and for the record I got them all done an was quite happy with the outcome!
I just have this stuck on my head right now:
I have not listened to the deftones in too long of a time. I actually saw them with soulfly a few years back and ended up getting to meet the guys from the band soulfy............did not have the heart to tell them they were not the band I wanted to meet
This song and video never fails to put a smile on my face. Absolute classics.
I could have met the Deftones, some three years ago. I had school. I watched them for free (myspace radio internet contest, for real), but uh, Chino was just drunk.
yeah, that is pretty much how I feel about it as well
I ADORE the album this song is on. I don't think this is one of the better songs on it but I do love the vid, especially that they put Graham's picture on the milk carton since he left the band, hahaha!
I so wish Blur would do another album since they've reunited. Thank goddess Damon has done Gorillaz & TGTB&TQ though. There should be a new Gorillaz on the horizon soon, which I'm jazzed about.
I love this song. It manages to be and make me feel happy and sad at the same time.
Go milk boxes!
@Anna underneath that covered eye, the tears are streaming :-)
Crying milk!
Sounds good any old time of the day.
