WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Guess what mog

After a long two weeks I am back in the mix of things. As much as I would love to address the 637 emails in my box, I am going to just try and get back in the swing of things this way. I am sorry to all for not being able to read your posts, and hopefully I can get some info on whats new these days on MOG.The trip, well it was long but great. Drove the 16 hours in two days, and once we arrived it was time for some rest. I always thought things were colder in Canada, but not this trip. Temperatures hovered in the high 90's (that would be 40 for anyone not living in the states) and it seems no one in Kapuskasing has air conditioning. This left me with some rather sleepless nights, never did well when it came to sleeping in the heat. Also had the luck of running into a bear. See photo attached. I went back after my run to see if I could find a paw print, and was happy when I did. Mornings were spent at Tim Hortons, while the afternoons were spent in the pool or at the lake.Musically, gotta say that the trip up and back were tip top. I seemed to pack the right mix of music, including the new Patton Oswald comedy cd. If you have not listened to his stand up you should really give it a listen. Also picked up the new Sum 41, and was pleasantly surprised by what I heard. Found it for 9.99 canadian at Wallmart, felt the need to listen. I am sure some of you are saying why are you looking for music at Wallmart and I will give you two reasons: 1. there is no other place in town that sells music and 2. because of Wallmart almost all the other stores in town have closed down. In order to get anything you have to go there, its somewhat depressing. So there you have it, you are stuck with me yet again. I hope everyone was well while I was away, and needless to say its good to be home.

  6. goodmusiconly says Wheeeee, _THE *RAWK* is BACK_!! I knew you'd want to be here to catch PUNK WARS (really, it's more of a free-for-all at this point, so go crazy). Hope you didn't hurt the bear too bad when you ran into him. Over on M we've seen those big muscles of yours, heh ;) Welcome back Kev!

  10. caliscrnwrtr says welcome back stateside! glad to hear the mounties left you be. and yeah, getting attacked by a bear is somewhat terrifying...especially when it's sniffing your head when your curled up in a ball in your sleeping bag hoping it doesn't decide to see what your brains taste like.

  11. gympumpkin says Blair: No, sadly there isn't. Chicago is dominated by Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks.

  12. SatisfiedMind614 says Amazing...can you get those muffins smuggled in from time to time...like people do when they drive to Windsor to buy Cuban cigarettes?
    Permalink posted 07/31/2007
  13. gympumpkin says The last time I had one of those muffins was when I was in Michigan several years ago. I used to date a Canadian, and whenever I went to visit him I made him take me there. I'm hoping one day Tim Hortons shows up here, but given the stranglehold Dunkin' and (to a much lesser extent) Krispy Kreme have on Chicago I don't think it will ever try to be here.

  14. Mike the Knife says Hey! We're all here rockin' in the U.S.A.! (And now, you're back and rockin', too.) Will you be the positive peaceable presence that brings an end to these senseless MOG wars - or will you enflame them, as I fear? I'm expecting the latter...

  15. Rawkkiddoh says Watch they are a very guilty pleasure of mine......we all have them I am not the first time and I am sure not the last. First time was the day before my wedding, was out on the road, and one popped up right in front of me. New underwear was something I needed to get after that. Thanks Dust, its good to be back Blair its comming, how about this.....its my sons run in with a moose Gym, you dont know how much I love that place. Every morning coffee and a treat. The muffins are so good, although I prefer a double chocolate doughnut Erin, punk wars...........? Please fill me in. The bear, well he was lucky enough to run into the bush before I could make a rug out of him Lucy, gotta ask what letter are you on for your posts Liz, it was coming back into the states when I got my car searched. I guess I looked like a terrorist with my beard and all caliscrnwrtr yes being actually attacked would be bad, lucky for me the bears up there are a little more friendly Mike, someone tell about these wars going on on MOG. I do love a good fight, but love is what I am all about. Want to cuddle?

  35. contrabandwidth says Glad to see your back. Been slow on the Mog-o-sphere, 'cept for the brutal Rawk-Wars between Hyman and Pimp (and they didn't even give you credit!). And then a Funk wars was started. And then the punk wars just went out of control. I really don't know who will vote on it, seems everyone is in it.

  36. Lady Miss Ian says Hope you had a great trip, Rawk. So, we're you trying to lure this bear with Tim Horton donuts? We're you jogging with donuts? Cuz if you were that would be very Homer Simpson of you. :-) Keep your head down - there's shrapnel flying all over the place in MOGland, what with all the Funk, Punk and Rock wars. I think the U.N. will be called in soon.
