Top 10 songs to fall asleep to... on purpose

Posted almost 5 years ago
Okay so i'm one of those people who love to turn my ipod on and slip my headphones on and take a nice nap. The first cd i ever bought was completely ridiculous. No seriously completley hands down ridiculous. It was the sounds of dolphins, and No that is not a twerky upbeat indy band , it's exactly what it sounds like. Well i'm going to start my list off with that at number one beacause it was a three minute one track cd with dolphins chattering to eachother. When i would put that on i would go in to the deepest slumber about not even halfway through the song. Well that's the start of this list.one:sounds of dolphinstwo:I Know You Are But What Am I- by Mogwai-this melodic instrumental band wrote too many beautiful lulabies to count.three: A Bad Dream- by Keane-This deep music just seems to flow through your ears and out every limb of your body.four:Your Hand In Mine- by Explosions in the Sky- I decided to tag this little long song. 8 minutes and 17 seconds of pure genius.five:Such Great Hieghts-Iron And Wine- A true vision of an amazing song.six:Astair- by Matt Costa- The Twangy music just makes my eyes want to close, it reminds me of an old music box when you force it to play faster.seven:Follow You-Mike Longo- When he gave me his solo album Oh No, Its the End Of the World i was like yeah free music! Then when i listened to it i was like wow i want his others cd's.eight:Tongue Tied- by October Fall- The Piano mixed with the acoustic guitar just makes this song sound complete.nine:Portions For Foxes- by Rilo Kiley- It only puts me to sleep if i play it with very low volume.ten:You Are The One-Shiny Toy Guns- With it's heavy synths and haunting voice this song is also fun to dance to if you know how to dance to it.If I mentioned a band that you liked this list is a compliment not a let down though it seems like it isn't.

  1. Lady Miss Ian says If you really want to take a good snooze, and have interesting dreams, try any of Brian Eno's ambient albums (Music for Airports; the Drop, etc) or Aphex Twin's ambient mixes. They're smooth on the surface, but interesting in the middle and deep on the bottom. ;-)

  2. Lord Alfreston says As your first CD was of Dolphins you ought to listen to Dolphins by Fred Neil a classic, beautiful folk song. Guaranteed to make you very relaxed indeed.
