Wow! Thank you. I'm enjoying the Stevie Ray Vaughn tribute. This is truly rooted in the BLUES. I was THAT clueless to Jimi Hendrix's style. I almost thought I heard B.B. King's Lucille for a second. Amazing. Thank you, Rocknrollpimp for taking and interest in me and sharing.

A friend just told me that Jimi Hendrix played with the Isley brothers. I had no idea. Wow!

I have lots of learning to do!

I'm reading the blogs you suggested. Thank you!

@rocknrollpimp that's probably why his legacy isn't accurately told because of jealousy. That's why I know there was more to him than this image I see of him on TV at times of him playing the guitar at Woodstock.

No one can't deny he was a guitar god but I didn't even know he was a lyricist as you had mentioned! Just the names that you shared are music royalty. He played with SAM COOKE? OMG. SAM COOKE?! *me faints* !!! I wonder if he played with Marvin Gaye?

    Thank you thank you!

Jennifer, if you want to hear two completely different sides of Jimi, listen to what used to be Side 3 of Electric Ladyland. The first track is "Dream Away" - he might as well be playing with Jimmy Smith. Then the next track - 1983... - is an underwater journey that is the complete opposite. All of it extraordinary music.
