  19. cpetersonart3 says ARS was an incredible group , from Atlanta,=They combined studio band producer -Dennis Yost and the Classics IV (Spooky ,Stormy)and guitarist from that group and drummer and keyboardist from the Candymen(Georgia Pines) who backed Roy Orbison in his Pretty Woman days along with two other new session musicians. They did a lot of session work before they got thier own hit.Well deserved. I would love to find Candymen CD's --to date they have not appeared ,Great Psychedelic sounds from that time,1967-68.

  23. soultronica says OK, OK, mucho gusto props on this one. No question. This is a track that's in my HOF of what my childhood friends used to denigrate as "white boy music." Around my way, brothers couldn't really admit to rolling with stuff like this; P Funk was OK, but AOR was out of bounds. But growing up in the U.S., I listened to a lot of AM radio, so you get down with stuff like this. Always was cool with ARS, this track in particular. (I also maintain a DL hankering for Dan Fogelberg and James Taylor, too, but hush on that. And don't let someone cue up Starland Vocal Band's "Afternoon Delight." It's *all over*.) I always wondered: has any hip hop group sampled the Rhodes intro? Crazy hot. I'd be shocked if someone hadn't copped this by now. It would be a straight, simple heist, but could make the basis of a juicy (if unusual) track.
