love to have more frickin' time in the dayi should come here more often but neglect tohere is a little something i have been diggin lately thenmaybe you to will see the RAWK lightBridging the gap between stoners of all races and creeds, Gov't Mule's "Mighty High," fuses jam-band sprawl, southern-rock crunch and the swaying bob of reggae. It's a lot to cover, and the instant and easy pothead pigeonholing will only belie what amounts to a very serious and very innovative attempt at untrespassed genre fusion.
With over 1,000,000 Gov't Mule albums sold to date and over 1,000,000 downloads sold through Mule.net, Gov't Mule is one of the most successful and respected bands in the world. The band is known for their jaw-dropping performances and their trademark high-energy rock 'n roll. Gov't Mule's influences range from reggae, folk, blues, soul and jazz -- and with such varied influences, it will be no surprise to fans that the Mule has gone dub.

  1. QueenofHell says Hey PIMPY! How the devil are you? Good to hear you're keeping yourself busy. I'm busy, too, and haven't been MOGging so much. I'm working, getting more work, doing an evening course in graphic design with huge amounts of homework. It's great. Trying to relax this evening, though, knowing I have a hell of a lot of work to do over the next few weeks. I like this track. Very relaxing, after a hectic day. Thank you!

  4. QueenofHell says Jeez, I know the feeling about the dirty clothes and dishes! HUGS to you, too. That 'Hard to Handle' is doing the trick, too. THANK YOU! I had to get home from a really rough area of town earlier. Lots of gun crime, stabbings and other atrocities going on around there. I was scared to wait at the bus stop alone. So I got a taxi. The taxi driver was playing African music, and it sounded so good. I told him that I loved the music, it was so mellow and relaxing, even though I didn't understand the words. He said that was a huge compliment. Odd that such a remark can be seen as a compliment, but that made me happy. Gotta go to bed soon, as I have so much to do tomorrow. Would love to stay up and listen to music all night. All the best, PIMP.

  14. debi says Hey Keith - somehow in my recent fog I missed the new release - thougth I already owned all things Mule. Here's my Mule contribution to the thread - suits my mood of the moment If I live till I die, will I be justly rewarded If I sleep till I wake, will I remember the dream If I lie to myself, will I have something to believe in If I face my fears, will I know what they mean Long for brighter days far behind me Before my life was just a haze When love was still inside me If I find myself, tell me will I lose me to others If I hang my head, will I feel the spirit of my mother If I bury my face, will I uncover the truth If I slow my pace, will the past gain on me Long for brighter days far behind me Before my life was just a haze When love was still inside me

  19. madrid spacestation spain says what do you think of Matt Abts drumming on this album? I dunno, alittle bit shallow for him atleast on this song, but a good track all the same. I don't mind them doing some dub flavor, jah!
    Permalink posted 10/25/2007
  20. ROCKNROLLPIMP says this is remixed stuff mainly from the last lp and then a couple of remixed live things it is open for discussion if it constitutes his actual drumming skills ;p
    Permalink posted 10/25/2007
  21. Dzendvokh says shallow drumming? wouldn't have been my first description. Sounds like they are sampled and processed but still.....my first thought was : Bonham meets Ranglin pretty sweet if you ask me.

  22. madrid spacestation spain says matt's skills as a drummer are certainly undisputed, he has unbelievable talent. just doesn't seem like his usual schtick here. my opinion, i enjoy his live performances, much more lively
    Permalink posted 10/25/2007
  23. Dzendvokh says I hear what your saying, I mean they sound sampled, not a lot of variation, but on the other hand, the sound itself is deep, like I said hits you kind of like Bonham.
    Permalink posted 10/25/2007
  24. madrid spacestation spain says maybe the sampling is the culprit, but it still grooves to be sure. which ranglin? earnest or alvin?
    Permalink posted 10/25/2007
  25. Dzendvokh says ernest
