Jaco is seen here playing "The Bass Of Doom."

Jaco’s main fretless as he dubbed “The Bass Of Doom” has been found after disappearing sometime just before his death back in 1986. According to Bassplayer magazine the bass showed up at the New York apartment of, session bassist and member of the David Letterman’s Late Night Show band, Will Lee. An unnamed party brought the bass to Lee’s apartment. The bass was smashed by Jaco during an argument and was glued back together. Jaco had the bass restored with a wood veneer and does not resemble what was once thought of as the one seen in photo’s of Jaco with him playing. This marks a very significant find in the bass community. I will post the Bassplayer online article when it’s readily available.

Fender makes two version of his bass. The price for one is around a grand, the other around three grand.

Scotch : What your didn't? Mine did ! (Yeah Right LOL!)... I don't even own one.

Sturgell: It was tragic, I heard at one point that his family was going to bring charges againt the bouncer. Never knew what became of it.

Sturgell - Well, Jaco was a crazy person, no doubt about it. If he hadn't received brain trama that night, something else would have killed him soon.

Ray! Nope... NONE of my axes ever came with talent! WTF!!! I think I should sell them all and move on to drums. Maybe I can find a kit with Dennis Chambers-level talent on it.

I've been think the same or at least as a second instrument. Everbody assumes I'm a drummer when I first tell them I'm a musician in person anyhow.
