Little bit of an interview Phil Mog & Pete Way around the sound. Check Out Pete Way playing a P-Bass instead of a Gibson ThunderBird. And on top of that with his fingers...

  1. leftoverking says i have a great fondness for the strangers in the night record. i have been buzzed, gotten sentimental, and purchased this album used... twice. the second time it happend, i was filing it away and found the first copy i had already picked up. i gotta remember every time i have a few beers, not to go record shopping. every time i do, i re-buy this record. have you noticed anything strange about the gracenote database info for ufo? when i loaded some ufo songs into windows media player, the artist tags come up, "ufo, or die" ???

  5. RobinH says Just love this band. I now have 3 copies of Strangers - Vinyl, tape and CD. Just back-filled some of the earlier albums - pre-Schenker. Interseting to hear what they were doing space-rock era (some great playing by Way on these albums). Must say I agree with you, RGM, about The Wild, The Willing, And The Inoccent. Highly underated album, there are some great tracks on there. I feel we sometimes forget how much Chapman used to help them out when Mr Schenker was being, shall we say, difficult. There are some very interesting UFO DVD's available, recently rented one off Amazon that had some great early Schenker period live tracks (sans-keyboards, I think - yes, that early). I think it was one of those 'critical review' style DVD's - you know the ones where you never really recognise the 'talking heads' (early producers, live members who were in the band one summer, the engineers cat - that sort of stuff) but they often have great bonus material or live clips. I thnk this one was one of the better ones in the 'series'.

  6. RGM says One guy I use to work with told me that on one of the Walking on Water shows Schenker tried to stop a vender from selling bootleg UFO T-shirt's. He got punched in the nose in the process, got pissed and almost didn't do the show...thats funny sounds like my Iron Maiden Live After Death Copy's I also have 3 one on cd, tape, and record...oh wait make that 4 have the VHF...also have a T-shirt from the show and if I could ever find it the tour book...
